Padge's pov:

It was horrible, staying up with Moose all night. When he did regain consciousness, he was still a werewolf and he was snarling and growling at us, but because he was chained up he was terribly restrained.

It isn't fun seeing your best friend in chains and shackles.

After a long night, it's finally morning. Moose shifts back into his human form, looking cold and miserable.

"Is Nadine okay?" Moose asks.

"She should be," James nods. He throws Moose his hoodie and jeans. "You might need these, mate,"

"Get me out of these chains first, I think they've cut my wrists,"

Sure enough, his wrists are bleeding, but we wait until he's dressed to go back to the Circle. Amy deals with his wrists and tells him off for scratching Nadine on the leg. She also has a nag about how he bit and scratched Lissa all down her arms.

"I didn't mean to!" Moose snaps. He and Amy glare at one another and then Amy flounces out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

"Matt, mate, them scratches on your face are getting worse," Jay says after a moment of silence.

"I'll be okay," Matt shrugs.

"Where did the girls go, anyway?" I try to change the subject.

"Home," Matt says. "And probably for the best. They need a rest after what happened last night,"

"Which wasn't my fault," Moose mutters. "I never asked to be a werewolf,"

Nadine's pov:

I can't concentrate in school at all. Everyone's buzzing about the murders and I'm too busy thinking about last night. I'm in loads of trouble with my parents, for coming home late, and constantly disappearing. They're convinced I have a secret boyfriend who's twice as old as me, and I'm always round his house, drinking and doing drugs.

Plus, I had to come up with a lie about the bandage on my leg. I told them I had been out for a walk and then something had attacked me. That wasn't a wise idea, as I'm now totally banned from going out.

"Are you going to the Circle tonight?" Lissa whispers to me in Science.

I shake my head. "Can't. Been banned from going out,"

"Maybe you sh-"

A shadow falls over our desk and Mr. Rodriguez doesn't look amused. "After school, girls," he says, with an unpleasant sneer on his face. "I'll be seeing you both in my room. An hour, I think, should do it,"

After the detention, Mr. Rodriguez gave us lines, Lissa hurries off to the Circle and I trudge home. My mother's waiting in the living room and starts shouting at me the minute I step in.

"And where have you been?" she roars.

I take my time, taking off my coat, hanging it up, taking off my beanie and then flattening my dark hair against my head.

"Detention," I say simply and start to go upstairs. Mam catches hold of my wrist.

"Don't you dare walk away from me!" she shouts. "I thought we told you to be home by three thirty! What time do you call this!?"

"Four thirty," I reply.

She shakes me, my head rocking back and forth on my shoulders. "Don't talk back to me! You're to be home by three thirty, sharp, tomorrow or you'll be sorry!"
