Luna's POV

Weeks Later...

~*~

"Okay Luna this is your new foster family the Robinson's so be nice." My social worker Ms.Maria said as we walked in and got the first sight of the new family I was being placed with.

There was a white couple, the husband was tall and slightly obese with a bulldog face, the wife was shorter than him and skinny with almost a scared look on her face. There is something wrong and apparently I'm the one noticing. I tugged on Ms.Maria's dressed and shook my head from side to side when she looked down at me. I would rather be anywhere but here. She bent down to whisper in my ear. "Don't mess this one up like the last one kid, your already twelve years old and the older the harder it is to have your placed in a home. I don't care if you like them or not, suck it up." She said in my ear and them smiled back at the couple. This was going to be hell and I know it.

"Welcome to your new home sweetie." The skinny lady said as her voice shook. She took a step forward and I took one back.

"Where are your manners Luna?" Ms. Maria pushed me forward. "I'll leave to let you guys get to know each other." She said as she started walking towards the door and soon disappeared in the distance.

"How much are we getting for this little bitch?" The man said as he sat on the couch and his wife handed him a bottle of alcohol.

"I'll go get her settled in her room." She said to him and grabbed on to my arm.

We walked down a hall and at the end was a small room with all white walls, a twin sized bed with peach colored sheets and a small closet that had three t shirts that were the same color and three pijama pants hanging.

"Listen you will not say a word once he starts drinking, you will do as he says always. Stick to those rules and maybe you'll survive this hell." She shut the door behind her as she left. I sat on the corner of the bed and started shaking, I've never felt this scared before in my life...

My eyes flew open as I woke up from my dream or what I wish were a dream. My body was shaking as I looked at the hour, 2:34am. I changed my pijama shorts to exercising ones and put on my running shoes as fast as I could and just like that I was out the door and starting to jog down the street. Everything was mainly pitch black but I just kept on running as fast as I could. My heart raced and my chest felt tight, before I knew it I was close to my house again. My chest felt tighter and my vision got blurry as I felt a knot in my throat. I fell on my knees on my front lawn and felt the wet grass touch my knees. This was no asthma attack, this was anger and lots of tears. I just stayed in the same position looking at the grass as I cried hard wanting to scream my lungs out. Running my finger through my hair I slowly rocked myself, the harder I cried the more out of breath I felt. I felt so completely overwhelmed. I just kind of laid there and waited for the emotions to pass, slowly I could breathe a little better. I hate the power the dreams or more like nightmare had over me.

A month later...

I could hear distant noise like someone knocking on my door. I turned the other way to go back to sleep but the knocking just continued.

"Sweetie.." Mrs.River's called.

"Come in." I yelled.

Her head popped in as she opened the door. "Dad made blueberry pancakes." She smiled.

Did she just say Dad? "I'll be down in a minute." I couldn't be rude especially knowing how much they wanted for me to see them as real parents. But I just don't feel that comfort yet, I've only known them for about four months. I checked my phone and found a good morning text from Jason and a shopping invite from Savannah. I got ready and walked down stairs to the breakfast table.

"Hey sweet pea." Mr. River's put a hot plate of pancakes in front of me as I sat down. The smell was mouthwatering.

"Morning." I croaked.

"How was studying?" Mrs.River's asked.

"Kind of boring actually." I shoved a big piece of pancake in my mouth so they wouldn't ask anything else, I didn't feel like saying much today. It's been a month and a half since Greyson has barely talked to me and I still don't know why.

"Alright ladies I have to go to work." He kissed us both on the head before leaving.

"Can I go shopping with Savannah today?"

"Sure, enjoy your Saturday." She smiled.

I excused myself and walked over to Savannah's. I knocked on the door and it opened slightly. That's not normal.

"Saaav?" I walked in slowly. "Savaannaaah." I took a few steps forward.

"Boo!"

"Fucking Shit!" I blurted out.

Savannah started laughing so hard I thought her water might break. "You- youuu-- boo! -- and --" She couldn't stop laughing.

"It's not funny I thought something had happened to you! I crossed my arms over my chest. "Why was your door open?"

She wiped some tears off from her laughing so hard. "I was about to go get your lazy ass and then remembered I left my present in my room." She tossed me a small pink box.

"You know when people propose they get down on one knee." I joked and she gave me the middle finger. I opened the box. It was a golden necklace with a gold sunflower charm that had engraved 'Godmother of a princess'. As I read the words I felt out of air and my eyes watered. "If this is a joke I won't ever talk to you again." Savannah hugged me tightly.

"Not a joke." She pulled back. "I'm seven months so I need help changing dirty diapers." She laughed. "I wouldn't trust anyone else in this world with my child than my best, craziest and most loving friend."

"Thank you." I chocked. "This is such an honor."

"Nuff sappy talk let's go and shop for some baby clothes." She pulled me towards the door.

"Lets." I smiled.

After a very long car ride filled with karaoke we finally arrived at the mall. We spotted some of the baby stores and went in to the first one that had a huge sign with the most adorable baby ever on it.

"So when do you plan on decorating Mary's room?" I asked.

"I know I should get to that already but I don't know what colors to go for. Maybe yellow and gray, pink and white, purple and creme, turquoise and white? It's just to hard." She rummaged threw some baby clothes.

"How about pink, gray and some detailing in white?" I suggested.

"Godmom knows best so pink white and gray it is." She smiled. "Oh, look at this pink tutu." She gushed.

"That is a must!" I smiled. "So do you have a crib and all that jazz yet?"

"Not a single thing. To be honest I've been putting it of because I feel incomplete without her dad with me. I never imagined doing this on my own and sometime I feel like I just can't."

Her face went from gushing at the pink tutu to almost crying.

"I know it's not the same as having him but trust me, you are not alone." I hugged her. "I have an idea that you might like."

"What is it?" She slightly wiped her eyes.

"I will decorate Mary's entire room. I'll do everything from painting to picking out cribs and stocking up the closet with diapers. Let me do this for you, I promise you won't be disappointed. But with the condition that you cannot take a peak or look at the room until the princess is born. I want it to be a complete surprise."

Sav's eyes watered.

"Most definitely yes." She hugged me tightly.

"Alright but I can't do that if my lungs don't have any air." I joked and she let me go.

"Oh get over it cry baby." Sav rolled her eyes.
