Luna's POV
I felt a tingling on my nose, like the kind that you get when you forget to close the curtains and the sun tickles your face. I tried to open my heavy eyes and look around but my vision is really blurry. How did I even get to this bed? The last thing I remember is Ezra telling me that....
"Luna your awake." I felt the bed dip next to me.
"Not completely." I rolled over and covered my face with the blanket.
"Aren't you hungry? Do you feel better? Come on, kitten wake up." I heard the unique voice of my beloved and annoying Greyson.
"No, leave me alone. How did I even get here?" I growled.
"Your supposedly brother brought you all knocked out. All he said was to take care of you because he had to leave. He left you his new number written down on a piece of paper in case of anything, or at least those were his exact words.
"Why are we still in the hotel?" I looked around and noticed we were still in the same suite.
"It's not like I could take you back unconscious." He said in a 'duh' tone.
"The Rivers are probably worried sick." I tried to get up to look for my cell phone but the room seemed to spin a little making me sway to the side.
"Woah there, lay back down. I already talked to them. They know that you are with me."
"WHAT?!" My eyes almost popped out of my head.
"I told them that I was going to give you a ride home because you felt ill but then we got caught by the storm and had to stay in the hotel. Don't worry I told them that you were safe and that we slept in different rooms." He smiled all cheesy. It was quite cute.
"Liar." I whispered to myself.
"Am not." He said angrily."
"Like I'd believe that he would tell you to protect me when he knows I can protect myself. I've been doing it for years."
"He said you would say that but that you know under this situation you do need help." Greyson had a worried expression.
"What do you mean this situation? I can't remember what he was telling me about, it's all fuzzy." Now I was the one worried.
"Its something about a parole and a court date. It's written on the paper you left." Greyson extended the paper towards me.
My body started shaking. Please let this be a dream, please. How could they ever even think about letting him out? This cannot be happening.
"Come here you little bitch!" His breath reeked of alcohol as it hit my face. I stood there shaking my head and started running to look for a hiding place where he couldn't find me. "Come out of your little fucking hiding before I get even more mad you little piece of shit.
My heart was beating fast and fear shook my body. The first place I thought to hide was in the laundry room, there was a half-filled clothes basket so that's what I chose. I took out the clothes, got in the basket and threw the clothes over me. I prayed he wouldn't find me as I could hear his steps getting closer and closer. I knew not to cry or else he would hear me.
"Where the fuck are you!?"He kept yelling as his footsteps got closer.
I held my breath.
"Please just let her be." Mrs.Robinson pleaded.
"Shut the fuck up!" He said as I heard the sound of him slapping her to the ground. "Oh, look what you've done now you little bitch! You made hit your poor pathetic mother." He laughed slightly.
I continued to stay quiet, then the room got quiet. Maybe he left...
"Did you really think you could fucking hide from me?!" He yelled furiously. I felt the basket get knocked down making me go down with it. "Stand up!" I obeyed.
"Kitten?" Greyson said.
"You made me hit your mom by not coming out sooner, do you know what that means?" Mr.Robinson said as a sloppy drunk smile formed across his face. "Take your pants and shirt off now!" He screamed. All my body could do was shake as I looked as Mrs.Robinson and she looked away.
"Kitten?..."
"I said take them off. Stop lookin' at your momma like she's going to save you because she's not." He took a step forward. I started taking my pants and shirt off as he unbuckled his belt. Tears started streaming down my face. "Now turn around and put your hands up!" I continued to obey.
I felt the first whip of the belt on the back of my thighs, it sounded like a rubber band snapping in half. I left out a scream from how much it hurt.
"SHUT UP!" Another whip snapped on my back. I clenched my jaw so the screams wouldn't come out. Another on hit my back again. Tears ran down my face as I thought of Ezra, I prayed he got moved to a good home. I started to imagine him with a sweet foster mom who would bake him cookies and play soccer with him.
"You will NEVER disobey me again, you hear me you little fucking piece of shit!" And with those words, with all his strength I felt the belt whip across my back to where not even a clenched jaw could hold my scream, it was so strong I fell to the floor aching in pain. "YOU ARE WORTHLESS! YOU WILL ALWAYS BE EVERYBODIES SECOND CHOICE!"
"L!" Greyson's scream snapped me back to reality.
"I'm not worthless!" The words came out as a whisper from my lips. I felt a little out of air.
They say the body can't remember pain, but my memories are more real than anything else in my life.
"What's wrong?" Greyson came to my side.
I didn't respond I just sat there in silence. I can't do this by myself, I need Ezra.
A phone started ringing and it was Greyson's as Macy's name started flashing on the screen. I looked at him while he was ignoring the call.
"Answer your phone." I said softly.
"It's fine I'll answer later."
"Answer the damn phone Greyson." I started feeling angry.
"I said no." He replied.
For some reason it seemed like he felt sorry for me more than anything in this moment and I hated it. I grabbed his phone and answered. "Hello."
"Baby- wait who is this?" Macy said.
"Luna."
"Why the hell are you answering my boyfriend's phone?"
"Give me the phone Luna." Greyson said. The fact that he used my name and not kitten or L or one of the stupid names he calls me made me even angrier. I don't know what it is but I felt furious, like pent up emotions were about to explode inside me.
"We all know why I'm the one answering his phone, what did you think that we are playing fucking checkers or what?" I snapped.
"You little whore! You fucking slut!" She screamed back as Greyson took the phone from my hand.
"Hello? Macy, it's Greyson. Calm down."
I watched him as he talked to her. Almost as if he felt bad for her after what I said.
"No, we just bumped into each other, calm down." He said to her. "I'll call you later."
The fact that he acted like the past 24 hours didn't happen hurt more than it should.
"I'm glad you picked." I said to him with a serious face as I put my belongings in my bag.
"Picked what kitten?" He sighed.
"Oh, what I'm not Luna anymore?" I shook my head.
"I didn't lie she would have told the whole school and they would start ugly shit about you, trust me I know her. I don't want people talking shit about you. So, you tell me what did I fucking pick because the only thing I just picked was to protect you."
"You picked her." I said as I grabbed the keys to my bike and left.
