#22 ELATION

Shafna sneaked out of the home without disturbing her friends. There was no one outside. She called him.

" Hey why did you call me out? "

" Come out and see dear."

She went out of the gate and saw some guy standing in a bike at the end of the street. He was waving hands at her.

" Hudson.. Is that you? "

She asked him through phone.

" Yes. Its me. Come come. I couldn't wait anymore. "

She was astonished and started walking towards him through the vacant street.

Shafna went and hugged his neck in excitement.

" Hey.. What's this? I didn't expect you at this hour."

" Ta ta da.. Surprise. " He beamed at her.

" It is really the best surprise for me. But tell me. How come you're here now? And whose bike is this?"

" Actually dear.. For me today night shift work. "

" Oh.. I see. That's how you were talking to me late night. If you're at home, you'll never even touch your mobile. "

He laughed. " While I was talking to you, I started missing my sweetheart more. So I got permission and took my colleague's bike and now I'm with my darling."

He then cluthched her hands and kissed it.

"I'm touched Mr. Hudson. Can we go for a ride?"

" Ride? Now? "

" Yes dear."

It was chill and the stars were twinkling brightly. The faint clouds were floating by the glowing moon. The silence of the night was disturbed by the hissing sounds of the insects.

" I too wish to go for a ride with you but it is not safe to go at this time dear. Understand. But I promise, sure I'll take you for a ride in bike. "

" OK." She pouted her lips in disappointment.

" My sweet darling. Please smile for me. I have come to see your smiling face not this melancholic face. Smile smile. "

He ran his fingers through her waist to tickle which made her giggle.

" I love you Hudson. " she kissed his cheeks.

" I love you my dear Shafnaaaaa" He shouted and Shafna sealed his mouth with her palm.

" Sshh!! Don't shout. " He kissed her palm which was closing his mouth. She pulled away her hand and beat his arm.

After few minutes, he left to his office and Shafna went home.

That month, Hudson resigned the job and started looking for another better job. He was depressed since he hadn't got through the interviews he attended.

Shafna was praying for Hudson on that day morning. He was about to attend an interview that day. Shafna called to convey her best wishes.

" Hello Hudson "

" Tell Shafna. "

" Are you tensed? Your voice is shaky."

" Yes I'm very tensed and nervous. Somehow I have to get into a job soon."

" Don't be tensed dear. You can do well. "

" I don't know. I don't think I'll get through this interview. As usual this will also go in vain. "
