#32 CRASHED

The days had been passing in Hudson's thoughts for Shafna. She had been living with him in her own world. She used to dream of the day she would marry Hudson.

Shafna was waiting for that day. She didn't tell him that she was silently fighting to get back to him. She wanted to surprise him someday.

Even Hudson's friend John said her once that Hudson's mom started looking for a bride to her son.

But Shafna didn't care about it. She was damn sure that Hudson won't say yes to marry some other girl.

Although Hudson didn't call or message her, she knew that he would miss her and waiting for her.

Suddenly one day, Shafna got a message from Hudson. She was in exhilaration.

H: Hi Shafna. How are you?

S: I'm fine. What about you?

H: Yeah!! Fine.

S: Tell me what's up?

Say that you missed me and that's why you messaged.

H: My parents are talking about my marriage. They have even selected a girl for me.

What?? Did you message me to tell this? My parents are selecting a guy for me almost every week. But I'm managing to reject it these past two years. Now you're worried about your first proposal itself.

S: Oh!! That's fine.

H: I know that girl. She is my classmate from my ug. My sister only suggested her to my parents since she is her friend.

Your sister?? Go to hell.

S: Do you like that girl?

I know you like me and you love only me. Still I wanted to hear it from you.

H: May be I would like her but I don't love her.

Sh*t. Cut this crap. So have you even given a thought about loving her? How dare you saying that to me?

S: Its enough to like her when it comes to arranged marriage.

H: Check out her profile in Facebook. Her name is Steffi Williams.

Why should I?? Do you want me to say whether she is a perfect pair for you??

Shafna didn't reply for that. She couldn't digest his words. ' May be I would like her but I don't love her' was echoing in her ears. She closed her ears to shut it down.

Is this true? Is he teasing me? Does he wanted me to show my possessiveness towards him?

Shafna although didn't want to check out that girl's profile, she failed to do that. She opened that girl's profile in Facebook. She saw a leaner and taller girl than herself.

Hudson always wished Shafna to become slim. There he got a slim girl. Shafna just hated her from the first look.

She couldn't imagine that girl standing next to Hudson in their bridal costume.

She sat back silently and rewind her thoughts to the day she fell in love with Hudson.

She had gone through everything that happened between them. Their sweet love made her smile.

Shafna hit her head for getting tensed for unnecessary matters. She knew about Hudson and his love.

He loved her more than she loved him. She thought that Hudson just shared the happenings.

She was sure that he won't say yes to marry that Steffi Williams or anyone else. She trusted him wholeheartedly. She stopped worrying about that and even forgot that.

Few weeks later, Shafna was about to leave to Bangalore for some project work along with her few colleagues. She was very happy to go there since Hudson was in Bangalore.

She was not sure if she could meet him or not. But still it was enough for her to breath the same air he was breathing and to be in the same place where he was.

Shafna messaged him about her visit to Bangalore. She didn't call her because if she hears his voice, she would miss him more.

She reached Bangalore. But there was no reply from Hudson. She was disappointed. She wanted to call him but she held her back because she was frustrated of his attitude.

She thought herself that might be Hudson would be busy or he was not in Bangalore. He might have gone to Chennai to visit his parents. She knew that he won't avoid her without reasons.

She finished her work and returned to Nagercoil. Her colleagues were planning to go for a tour. Since Shafna was tired from the Bangalore trip, she was not interested in the tour.

But when she heard the tourist place they suggested, she said OK in spite of her tiredness. They have decided to go to Ooty.

Shafna felt nostalgic once she entered Ooty. She remembered the loving moments spent with Hudson few years back.

The romantic night together with him, the chillness and his warmth, his sweet kisses, endless hugs, cuddles and snuggles, made her cheeks to become red.

When they visited the places where once she went with Hudson, made her to miss him more. She felt like to come back again with him after their marriage.

She took photographs in places where they captured photos together. She wanted to call him and tell that she was missing him in Ooty.

But Shafna decided to give him a surprise. So as soon as she returned from the tour, she thought to upload the photo in Facebook.

She knew that he would be surprised to see that the photo was taken at the same place where they posed together.

Shafna logged in her Facebook account to upload the photo. She was going through the news feed before uploading. She was stunned to see an update.

It killed her heart. She couldn't believe her eyes. She wanted to wake up from her dream. But no. It was not her dream. The truth. An unbearable truth.

Her heart almost stopped its beating. The blood stopped flowing into her nerves. She forgot breathing.

She gasped for breath and came out of her shock. She buried her face in her hands and cried out louder and louder.

I cannot bear this. No. No way. I cannot live anymore. I don't want to live . I wanted to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die.
