Prologue

What would you do if you had the gift to make anyone fall in love with you?

Some gift. More like curse. One would think that it would be the greatest gift you could get.

Quite frankly, it’s like cheating on a test and getting an A. Unless you have no conscience, it’s virtually impossible to shake that feeling of false accomplishment. Inside, you know that A isn’t really yours; you didn’t deserve it.

Though one can control whether or not they cheat on a test; it’s a bad choice that they can make. I, on the other hand, can’t control the fact that I can make anyone fall at my feet.

It has cost me friends, sleep, and my entire summer. That’s right: My summer. My family took a trip to France, and I opted to stay an extra month to try and get to the bottom of my….curse.

France? Yeah, France. I focused on Paris, ‘the city of love,’ right? I guess. Though to no avail; the few psychics there knew nothing about charms. If you ask me, I’d say they were phonies.

I have tried very hard to harness it, and though I can hold it back sometimes, it’s still there. A constant reminder of how I’ll never experience true love. At least, the real way.
