We all have darkness inside us that is why I chose this picture to symbolize the demons inside feeding on our depression and embracing us when we are alone.
She saw the building getting bigger as she gets closer. Then she notices a person. It is hazy to see in the mist of rain and darkness but some man is there with what looks like a bright red tie. As she gets closer she stalks up a near by tree. The man lurks to a black highlander and leaves. Just before the door shuts she swoops in the darkness of the building. She makes her way to a dark large room with long cushion benches.
Slowly she lies on a bench and is deep in thought. Thoughts of being pushed away from her own home and the one person who cared about her was taken away. While other kids she saw going to school probably dreamed of fame and fortune she dreamed of her next meal. This is when her tears fall. Depression compresses her most when she is not doing anything but thinking.
'Its the demons, you will find what you need you are still young.'
With that and a smile on her face she fell asleep.A single light awoke her about an hour later. Savanna realizes she is no longer alone in the building. She notices a purple jacket on the ground and the person is probably coming to retrieve it. As she gets up rubs her eyes and goes on the large what looked like a stage with a podium and several theater seats and hid behind the large organ. Gradually, the lights come on in the large room. Savanna sees a little red head girl with a blue and purple skirt on and blue shirt as she peaks over the organ.
The lights then gradually come off and she goes back to her soft bench. Dreams of a better tomorrow in her mind as she sleeps with a nervous smile.
As soon as she wakes she makes her way down the twisted hallway until she sees a woman's restroom. She darts inside and the lights turn on automatically. Rummaging through her pocket and grasps a tube of mascara, she then pulls it out of her pocket. Slowly makes her way to the mirror in fears of the monster she will see. She does not , she sees a young pale girl with black long hair, dark brown eyes, and very skinny. Memories of pictures of her mom when she was younger and she looks just like her mom. The mascara she slowly puts on is the last memory of her she kept to herself when she left. Her black lashes lengthen and are voluminous with every stroke.
She then makes her way to the door. Just before she is about to pull it open someone on the other side pushes it open. A frail old lady with what seems like sunglasses on and a walking stick. The old tiny woman with gray hair, light brown skin wearing an olive green long skirt with a matching sweater and an olive green floral scarf feels her way past Savanna through the bathroom. Savanna realizes this must mean she is blind so she swiftly makes her way through the closing door. She checks to make sure the coast is clear and makes her way out the nearest exit of the building.
Just before she reaches the parking lot two men with black and white name tags approach her. One has dark skin, black curly fuzz hair and charcoal eyes. His tag says Elder Griffith. The other has pale skin, red hair and green eyes. His tag says Elder Smith. Both tall and slender with white shirts, green with blue polka-a-dot ties, black pants, socks, dress shoes, and blazers. The one labeled Elder Smith says in a deep voice, "What is your name? I am Elder Smith and this is my missionary companion Elder Griffith." Savanna steps back slowly frightened by their presence.
"We just want to know your name because we have never seen you before," Elder Griffith says gesturing to Elder Smith probably for him to stand down Savanna assumes.
"Savanna, I was just using the restroom," she shrilly says barely making a sound and looking towards the beige concrete of a sidewalk around the massive building.
"That's fine, would you like to come back in? It is quite chili," Elder Smith says gently. He was not wrong but she did not know what she would be getting into. Two men she did not want to think about it.
"I am really fine. Thank you though... um-have a great day," she says as she darts off to the nearby woods where she knows her one other jacket and a pocketknife lie hidden in the brush. Deep in the woods she bends down to grab them and keeps running. Then she has stopped running once she realizes no one is behind her.
