As Savvy enters the school she ponders what was taught but snaps out of it when people around her start clapping.
"Did I miss something?" she asks Sam who is holding her hand and smirking as they walk together hand in hand to there first class ap government.
"They must be clapping at us because you have a girlfriend finally," Savvy adds.
"No, they are clapping at you because after years of you being missing you have returned hotter and brighter than ever," Sam whispers as they walk into their first class where they too begin to clap.
"You must be my new student Savanna Taylor," an older gentleman with glasses and white scruff on his chin and an obvious comb over on the top of his head.
"She is not new she just stopped coming years ago after her mom died," Missy says and has an open spot next to her and behind her so Savvy takes the seat next to her.
"That would explain the clapping, well miss Taylor welcome back," he says handing her a large government book.
"According to my stats you are one week ahead of us so if you want I can give you next week's assignments or you can re read to make sure you remember," he asks and she remembers doing the tax reading so she decides next week is better.
"Alright, read chapter fifteen and fill out the guided notes, hear are some tax table scenarios, and here is a sheet that should help you practice filing your taxes." he says giving her all the different sheets of paper and she begins her reading first to get it over with even though she already knows all of this thanks to her cousin who taught her what you really need to know about being an adult.
She finishes the chapter right as the bell rings.
"We have all week for these assignments," Sam says as they pack up and head to Ap Chemistry with Mr. Copper.
"So is his name really an element or did he change it for this reason?" Savvy asks as they walk into a lab filled with bunsen burners and juniors.
"Yes, the process to change your last name is a lot harder than changing your first name, my cousin tried last year because he wants to disown his drunk and abusive parents name," Missy says as they take their seats. Savvy sees him, the boy who once loved her and tried his best to get in bed with her after she left. Her neighbor Wyatt who knew everything.
"Hey Savvy, your dad just skipped town I saw if you want me to come over and help you out just give me a call," he says flipping his gorgeous hair to the side and Missy slaps him.
"You have a girlfriend and she has a boyfriend so do not even think about her," Missy says then kissing him slowly but stops as Rae walks in.
"Hello class, I am your sub Mrs. DeVault or you can call me ray today we will be talking about electrons as they get heated up with a demonstration. Please take a sheet grab three other people and choose a lab," she says and the four of them go to the back.
"So Missy does this mean we are friends again since you are trying to hang out with her again or did your mean girls skip town for the day," Sam asked as they begin the lab.
"They skipped town and we are friends, I do not want to be friends with school skippers," Missy says putting on her goggles and adjusting Wyatt's.
"So was the clapping really because I returned, I thought I was invisible?" Savvy asked as a fire alarm went off and they all lined up to go outside.
