As Sam opens the door Savvy gets one glance and runs to his room in his closet locking the door behind herself.  What is he doing here she thinks to herself. What does he want with me she ponders? Seeing those dark gray eyes and burly gray beard was enough for her to know it was her abusive hypocrite of a father. He was most likely realizing he made a mistake in throwing me out and pretending he has come to his senses by now when he truly has not. Savvy knows people can change but he was not one who ever did. He would tell them he talked to bishop, confessed of his  many sins when he truly has not or would even want to. Savvy has learned from the last time she was in foster care because of her abusive beast of a father but she managed then to reveal the truth. She hears screaming outside the the doors.

"Technically this is kidnapping, it is not legal," the beast says.

"Take it to court we have evidence of abuse on her that if there were prints yours would show up I am sure, she can testify that you kicked her out in the first place and I know the best lawyer in this darn town," their dad says with some snarkiness coming out!

"Who is to say your son or you have not raped  her and created those fingerprints from her clothes?" he retorts back and at this point Savvy cannot stay confined him insulting her boyfriend like that who is a good christian. She comes out and docks him in the face feeling the best she has ever felt in years.

"Do not ever disrespect me or this great family again, get the heck out of here I cannot take anymore of your mess you are no christian, you need this," Savvy says feeling like steam must be coming out of her ears.

"You will not ever disrespect your father like that again young lady. I will read this though it seems interesting and if it makes you happy you deserve that, I really want to change I have stopped drinking and working back in the mines, can you ever forgive what I did to you?" he asked her tears welling in his eyes he kneels down at her feet surrendering  to her and she is forced to ponder whether she should but then she remembers the story of Christ telling the people to forgive those who have crossed them seventy times seventy meaning always.

"I forgive you," she says holding him in a tight embrace with a smile on her face finally realizing that she actuallly now has the dad she always wanted and needed.  The past is behind  her and this religion has given her hope Savvy will continue to grow in faith. May we all learn from are past but move on to create an even brighter future.
