As soon as we are out there and he has done attendance Susan comes running towards us.
"Do you guys remember Jaxon Ricks who is Captain of the football team and that you used to date?" she asks referring to Missy.
"Yes of course, why did he do this?" Missy says rolling her eyes and her boyfriend pulls her closer to him.
"Yes he was testing to see how high he could make his flame before he set the fire alarm and he ended up burning the light and his own face," Susan says and the sound of sirens creep in and Savvy looks around and realizes Sam is nowhere in sight.
"Excuse me where is Sam?" she asks the teacher and he points inside.
"He went to the restroom on the way out I think he assumed it was a drill since we are due," he says a little panicking. Without even thinking Savvy makes a beeline for the door without even looking back. Once she is inside she hides her mouth as smoke engulfs the entire hallway and she knows there is nothing she can do. Her eyes widen as she sees fire inside the boys bathroom and hears screaming.
"Sam are you in there," she says yelling through the flames .
"Yes but angel do not come in here there is no way out," he says. She jumps through a break in the fire and he catches her and they lie there and kiss slowly the young boys around them clapping and all of them jump through the break and make there ways out of the building. Once the last one is through however, the flame rises back up again and they are unable to get through and the flames creep even closer to them. They move to the center of the room and kiss some more. Suddenly, Dan walks out of a stall.
"I thought you two were the good couple, having sex in the bathroom in the middle of a fire thats rebellious of you Sam," he says and starts to head to the sink to wash his hands but is stopped by a flame and burns right there in front of them. Sam bursts out in tears and goes to grab his brother who is likely breathing his last breath.
"Come on Dan you are fine, Harvard needs you buddy, the world needs you," Sam says and he begins to panic. Savvy goes to Sam as a fire man comes in spraying a hose.
"Brother Dowell please my brother needs a blessing can we give him one now," Sam stutters and the man Nods.
"You give the blessing son he is your brother," he says as EMS runs in with a stretcher he holds out his hand for them to wait.
"Dear most kind and gracious heavenly father, I thank thee for these men you have sent at this time. Please bless my brother at this time to be strengthened and that the medical doctors may be able to provide him the proper care he needs to heal and if it be thy will that he may live please Lord I know you are done with him yet. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen," he says and then he gently helps his brother up onto the stretcher.
"We must go with him, we are his family please," Savanna begs and Brother Dowell nods and makes his way to tell there teacher what has happened. Sam begins to lay his head on Savvy's shoulder in the ambulance in tears.
"He is too young Savvy, he had so many hopes and dreams to go to Harvard and study law and become the best mormon lawyer and take on religion cases," he cries out grabbing his brothers loose hand who is coughing and trying to catch his breath. Sam slides his hand behind his back and raises him up slightly and pats him on the back until the emt alarms him to stop. He begins applying some gel on his burns on his legs and Dan cries out waking up.
"Welcome back bud, you got yourself burned but these men are going to take great care of you Brother Dowell and I gave you a blessing," Sam says and Dan smirks out of joy.
"Thank you," he coughs out and lies back down and stretches out his harm for emt to start geling them.
"After a while the burning of the gel should go away," he says he is a white male with blue eyes and boyish blond hair.
"It has," it has he says flipping over to reveal a black peeling back.
