"Well, look who finally showed up" Erin smiled as she welcomed Jay in, "I was starting to think you weren't coming"

"Ah, babe you know I can't resist you" he kissed her, "I grabbed a few beers with Ruzek"

She noticed the change in his tone, "What happened?" They'd all been worried about both Adam and Kim, but no one knew what to say or do to help them.

"You called it, its Miller's kid"

Erin plopped on the couch and pulled her knees to her chest, "Shit! I hate this for them, did Adam tell you?"

Jay kicked his shoes off and laid down on the couch, pulling Erin next to him, "I pulled it out of him, we sparred at the gym and he beat the shit out of me"

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, his punches don't hurt" he smirked, "anyway he offered to buy me a beer, and I asked what was up with him. Too make a long story short, we had words he stormed out. I followed him and asked him, Erin he lost it in my arms, he cried" he felt awful for his friend, "he's afraid he won't love the kid"

Erin sighed, "Of course he will, he already loves that kid. Just last month he was going on and on about how excited he was to be a dad"

"Yea, except he's not now" Jay played with Erin's hair, "I think you should reach out to Kim"

"I'll call her in the morning, I've missed you" she smiled, "we have some catching up to do" she laughed as she led him to her bedroom.

Adam was sitting in the dark in the nursery, unable to find sleep yet again. He sat in the glider, the crib still sitting in the box. He was supposed to have put it together already but couldn't bring himself to do it.

Tired of thinking he flipped the light on and went and grabbed his tools from the garage, it was time to put it together. At the very least it would get him out of his head for an hour or two.

He'd been at it for nearly an hour, he could see the sun beginning to rise. He had barely gotten anything done, "son of a bitch!" He yelled, his frustration mounting.

Kim woke to the sound of Adam yelling, she slipped her rob on and followed the light and the sound of Adam's voice.

He had her back to her, wearing nothing but sweatpants, "Adam, what're you doing? It's late" she asked from the door way.

Adam wiped his face, "trying to put this damn crib together" he still hadn't faced her, "he's going to be here soon, I need to put it together for you" he told her, "I just can't get it together"

"Adam you don't have to worry about that now, have you slept at all?" She asked sitting in the glider.

"I'm not tired" he lied, "I just don't want you worrying about this" he turned to face her, "I don't want you to worry about anything" he said softly.

"Are we okay?" She asked him, "I'm worried about you"

He stood and pulled her up from the chair, "I love you" he held her close, "Don't be mad at me but I told Jay" he admitted he sat in the glider, Kim in his lap, "He asked me point blank and I told him."

She wrapped her arm around his neck, "I'm not mad, did it help talking with Jay?"

Adam stroked her cheek, "I guess, Kim I'm afraid I won't be able to love him" he swore she flinched at his words, "I want to love him with everything I have but I'm afraid all I will see when I look at him is Miller's face"

Kim got up from his lap and went to the window, she watched as the sun rose, "You don't think I feel the same way?" She asked him, "I'm so scared that he will look like him, and that as soon as he's born I won't want to hold him"
