(This song inspired me to write this one-shot. Song and art work doesn't belong to me. Undertale belongs to Toby Fox.)

It had been several days since Asriel broke the barrier and allowed all of the other monsters to go free. All of them, except for him. He remained down in the Underground, afraid of hurting more innocent people when he reverted back into a flower. Toriel along with all the others who (Y/N) befriended, traveled up to the surface, the human reluctantly following behind.

There was so many warnings from Toriel not to travel back even though the barrier's broken, unspoken dangers possibly lurking in the darker corners of the inside cavern of Mt. Ebott. However, for three days, no sleep came to them. The reason: guilt and pity.

They had saved every monster all for one who was still suffering alone in the dark. He was so misunderstood and was corrupted due to the very first fallen human named Chara who had a poisoned view on humanity, unable to feel love and only seeing the world in black and white.

It wasn't fair.

'It's so cold... so lonely...'

A soft plop of water falling rhythmically could be heard far off.

'So dark...'

Little light came from a tunnel overhead of the small opening, showing the sky turning an orange-yellow; the sunrise.

'Someone... please...' A small sniffle. '... Just end it...'

The pattering of water seemed to speed up. That wasn't unusual though. The thing that was unusual was a dark shape walking towards the only opening. A faint flutter came before one thought drifted.

'... Chara...?'

When the figure came to the opening, the unknown feeling was gone seeing it was just the human that physically resembled the fallen human, but had no personality similarities in sight. A frown was forced into a scowl, forcing back the uncomfortable feeling in their throat.

"Finally here to end it?" The question was asked with a sarcastic tone.

No reply was heard. Not much of a surprise. The human rarely talks to begin with. Yet his patience was thin. With a glare he snapped at them again.

"You deaf? Brain-dead? If you're not gonna speak then go back to your rotten family and stay the hell away from me."

"Why do you think I'm here Flowey?" They responded, curiosity showing in their (e/c) eyes.

It took a second as he let the words sink in before giving a growl. "God, you're such an idiot. I've tried killing you and every monster down here. I should be your enemy, not a part of your stupid family."

They remained quiet, sitting down in front of the bitter flower with an expressionless look. Flowey gave a bitter laugh.

"I get what this is about. This is about trying to save Asriel, isn't it?" Flowey said while looking at the human, seeing if they'd reply. None came. "Here's the thing 'friend', there's nothing to save. You're wasting your time.

"Now, why not take your pity and go back with the other idiots."

The never ending silence was a bit longer as Flowey focused his gaze on the ground. A sort of shuffling was heard and he gave a sad smile that the human couldn't see.
