"So, you've been here, erased from existence?"
The man who you now know as Gaster nodded his head before speaking telepathically in your mind. "I've been here due to a lab accident. That is why you are not to be here child."
You gave a frown in confusion, not getting as to why you were in this blank space and unable to leave with the only one being here is Gaster.
"Was I... erased?"
"If you were to be erased, no one would remember you." With a swiping motion of Gaster's left hand, a soft brightness started to form before a picture took place afterwards. "Observe, my child."
With curious (e/c) eyes, you soon fixed your orbs onto the makeshift screen laying in front of you to see a goat monster laying beside your own peaceful, non-moving body, staring at you with sad and desperate blue eyes.
Alphys slowly walked onto the screen to gently lay a damp rag on your head before going off screen once again.
"Wait," You looked up to Gaster standing beside you. "Where's Flowey?"
His gaze remained on the screen, but his voice spoke once again in your mind. "I believe that is him laying with you."
A sudden feeling of shock coursed through your veins as you looked at the goat boy laying beside you. A wide grin was making its way across your face as the shock was soon replaced with an overwhelming sense of joy.
"I-It worked... the procedure actually worked!"
"Seems to be that way. What is it you wish to do now?"
You quickly turned to face Gaster with a wide smile still on your face. "I need to get back."
"Go then." He spoke nonchalantly in your head causing your wide smile to quickly turn into a frown.
"I can't."
"What makes you think that?"
A small shrug was his answer as you looked down to your feet. "Don't know how. SAVEing and RESETing won't help me here."
"I don't recall mentioning to use any of those tactics to escape from here. Pay attention child."
Gently he pointed at my chest before pointing it at him. Nothing happened for a few seconds until your chest began to glow a beautiful golden color. Slowly, your soul made itself known and you couldn't help but stare. The usual red color of the soul now was a sparkling gold color along with it being only half instead of a full heart.
"W-What happened to it...?" You asked in awe before gently poking it.
"You always did have an incredible amount of determination. It seems when you gave half of your soul to someone who needed it, both your selfless nature and your overwhelming amount of determination empowered the will to survive and to always have a stronger sense of justice and with that, the ability to always do what is right. That and also the gargantuan amount of love you hold for the monster you saved."
Your cheeks quickly fired up with a red color at his words which were all very true and you were hoping it wasn't painstakingly obvious.
Ignoring your flustered expression, Gaster continued on with his explanation. "Determination can do miraculous things. If you so badly desire to live, it will bring you back.
"So, the only question that still remains unanswered child it, do you want to live?"
Without hesitation, you nodded your head. "Of course I do."
As those words left your mouth, a sudden light filled the black void causing you to flinch while Gaster didn't even blink. "It was nice to have a conversation with you human, but now you must return to where you belong."
"I just have one more question." Gaster waited patiently while you looked up at him with curiosity shining in your (e/c) eyes. He gave a nod in acceptance to which you took a small breath before asking, "What are you to Papyrus and Sans?"
This question caused Gaster's body to tense up, his gaze meeting anywhere but at your own curious one. "They... they would be my sons."
His voice that once sounded so kind and with a hint of confidence and obvious intelligence, now showed what he was truly feeling; constant pain and sorrow. With an empathetic stare, you slowly approached him, before wrapping your arms around his form in an attempt to comfort him.
"I can tell them I saw you and deliver a message."
Slowly, Gaster shook his head before wrapping his arms around you as well, accepting your attempt's to make him feel at least a tad bit better. "It has taken some of my burden that at least one person knows I existed at one time. Thank you. Now you must go through that doorway. It will take you to where your body is now in the arms of the one who loves you the most."
Once again your face went a deep red as well as your chest beginning to feel a fuzzy feeling. "You can tell all of that?"
He gave a small laugh in your head before he nodded with his actual body. "Of course. I can also tell that before you had given half of your soul, the soulless flower loved you even then."
It was silent as you let this new information soak into your brain before giving a small sad frown. "Will I ever see you again?"
Again, he shook his head. "I hope not young one. For that means you would have been erased from existence as well as I. My one and only request is that you won't forget me."
Quickly, you gave a smile before shaking your head. "I never forget my friends."
Gaster's emotionless face seemed to then show some emotions after saying those words. The emotions were a mixture of happiness, peace, and relief.
With one final goodbye, you walked through the white doorway, turning around as you saw Gaster slightly smiling and waving at you before the opening closed. Tightly clenching your (e/c) eyes while walking onward you were saying aloud one final farewell and good luck to Gaster; the man that speaks in hands... and in your mind.
