"How can I help?"
Alphys turned her gaze up to the now physically changed monster and couldn't help biting her tongue at a remark on how he looked. Black bags were sagging underneath Asriel's blue eyes that now looked dulled and lifeless. The white fur on top of his head and around his newly acquired horns was extremely messy and was in need of a brush.
"They're in stable condition. What you need to do is go take a shower and rest." She said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Quickly he shook his head, stifling a yawn fighting to make itself known. "I'm fine doc. (Y/N) needs more help than me."
"Asriel, they're not going anywhere. What you're doing to yourself isn't healthy. You'll cause yourself more harm than good if you keep going on like this. Please just go take care of yourself."
A glare focused on Alphys before speaking in a sour tone, the words holding anger, guilt, and intense fear threatening to take over and drown him and what little sanity he now had obtained from being sleep deprived and missing a few meals. "What happens if they're gone and I'm not here?! What then?! I am not leaving them alone!"
The reptilian scientist gave a frown, focusing on him with a gaze full of pity; something he didn't want or need... at least... not from her. "I know how it feels-"
"Like hell you do! You still have all of your loved ones with you! I lost mine and when I finally get a second chance, they might die! So I'll be damned if you try and tell me you understand when you don't!"
Asriel's sudden outburst out of anger and pain resonated around the room as an echo before fading out into nothing. He was now taking several deep breaths, his eyes wide and full of shock as he had never done that before. His gaze focused fully on Alphys who was looking away in guilt. The silence stretched a bit more before Asriel spoke.
"I-I'm sorry. I don't know what happened..."
She shook her head before looking up with an expressionless look. "Don't be. It was wrong of me to try and say I went through the same thing and give you pity when I was fully aware that Flowey doesn't like nor want it."
"But, I'm not 'Flowey' anymore." He said while trying to sound confident even though doubt was starting to drain away the little bit of confidence he had. "I'm Asriel now."
Fiddling with her hands in front of her Alphys gave him a slow nod. "Yes and no. You may have your physical form back, but due to only having obtained half of a soul, you will still have some of Flowey's bad tendencies."
It felt like a block of ice had fallen into the pit of his stomach as his tired blue eyes widened while his heart doubled it's original beat. "You mean... I'll kill again and lose my emotions?!"
"No no no, that's not what I meant. You'll keep your emotions and your interest to kill can be easily controlled by the part of (Y/N)'s soul since they are a true pacifist." Alphys explained before getting up from her computer chair and walking over to the human's comatose form and fixing the rag laying on top of their pale forehead. "All I meant is that you'll still have his rude behavior and sarcastic remarks from time to time and, of course, you'll keep all of your memories from when you were a flower."
He felt a small rush of relief as Alphys explained everything he still had yet to understand. "So, I won't harm anyone else? Mom, or dad, or... or (Y/N)... or anyone else? They won't be in danger?"
Alphys gave a small snort of laugh before shaking her head. "Not with (Y/N)'s soul inside of you. You won't endanger anyone anymore."
Asriel slowly let out the air held in his lungs during the anticipation before nodding with a relieved smile. Alphys returned it with a smile of her own then looked at him with a serious gaze. "You do need to take better care of yourself though Asriel. How do you think (Y/N) will take it waking up and seeing you looking worse than they will?"
"How do you know they'll look better than me?"
"If I had a mirror I'd hand it to you... but I'm afraid you'd break it..."
Blue eyes narrowed on Alphys' in disbelief before asking in a hushed and amused tone. "I look that bad?"
"Yeah. I see your twin right over there." Alphys said as she pointed behind him.
When turning he followed where she was pointing to see a trash can. With a shrug, he turned to him with a playful smile. "Isn't that your selfie on (Y/N)'s phone?"
Her eyes widened in shock as she tried to mask a laugh and failed. "Did you just...?"
With a laugh of his own and a nod he replied before walking away towards where Alphys' bathroom was located. "Yes I did. Take care of (Y/N) for me."
The metal door slid open before shutting soon after. Alphys gave a sigh as they looked from where Asriel left to the human's unconscious body and started making her way for her chair in front of the massive monitors to ensure that their vitals would remain stable and keep them alive.
'I won't let you down Asriel... after all, this kawaii trash needs to see her OTP sail.'
