 Louise's P.O.V

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Greyson's mom pulled up outside my house, with his dad following behind in his van for my stuff, I couldn't help but think about the letter my dad had written to me, before he had died.

"Dear Lou,

Since you are reading this, I take it I amn't with you anymore, but even if that is the case. I still love you, no matter what. Now the present is for you and Grey, I hope your still friends with him. Anyway sweetheart I want you to enjoy this, and do whatever you want, there is a presenteach underneath the one for the two of you to share. Also please tell Grey, even though he isn't my son, I love him like one, also make sure to tell him he has to keep an eye on you and look after you. If you have fallen out, please still give him the present for just him and tell him it's from me. Love you forever sweetheart.

Daddy <3." The words ran through my head especially the part I didn't tell Greyson.

"P.S. I know you loved Grey, obviously more than a friend, and maybe still do. So if anything bad has happened between you two then I'm sorry, I know how much he meant to you sweetheart, now you take care of yourself and also even though I asked Greyson to keep an eye on you and look after you, could you do the same, keep an eye on and look after Grey for me. Thank you Lou, I love you with all my heart, and also if your mom runs away again, don't go back to her. She's a bad person and I'm sorry for you, I wish I was with you still. Goodbye, forever. <3" The last bit kept repeating itself in my head 'goodbye, forever.' I was almost in tears, just thinking about it. I also thought about what my dad had said about loving Grey, I love him like a friend, a best friend, but do I love him more? Ma-.

"Lou, come on we're leaving," Greyson's mom, Lisa, said from the car, interrupting my train of thoughts.

"Oh, sorry Lisa," I replied. Grey took my hand and steered me towards the car, opening and holding the door for me to get and then he closed the door and went around to the other side to get in. As we slowly pulled away to go back to my new home, I thought about the rest of the letter. What had my dad meant when he said my mom's a bad person and if she runs away again, don't go back to her? So many questions filled my mind. Did he mean bad as in criminal? And if he did, what had she done? If she was a criminal did it mean she couldv'e actually had something to do with this? Argh, too many questions! Why couldn't I have had normal life like any other 13 year old girl?

"Grey?"

"Mmh?" he replied.

"Can we open the stuff from my dad when we get to yours?" I asked.

"Sure. We can put your boxes and stuff in your room then go into mine and open them before we unpack, if you want?" Greyson said, smiling at me. His gorgeous, perfect smile. Oh god, please don't say I like him again, after all this time?! I can't! Can I?

"Yes, um, that sounds, er, great!" I stuttered.

"Are you sure? 'Cause you don't sound it," Greyson stated.

"Of course I'm sure, I was just thinking about the letter at the same time as speaking, sorry," I spoke as calmly as I could, without stuttering again.

"It's okay, I'm sorry if I came across rude,"

"You didn't, and I'm the one who should be apologizing, not you, I wasn't focused on the conversation," I explained.

"Okay, we're both sorry," he chuckled and I giggled too. We talked the whole way back, with Lisa commenting every now and again making us change subject to somethingthat she had mentioned. This is what a family feels like, not what I had at 'home'. My thoughts drifted back to my mom as we entered Greyson's house, pulling all the luggage behind, with the help of Grey, Lisa, Tanner and Scott. I didn't have much with me but it was a lot of stuff for one person to take by themself so everyone helped besides Alexa because she was out at all time so obviously she couldn't help. So anyway back to my mom. I was thinking if it was her, why on earth would she do it? Did she just want to scare me? She liked to do that. Did she want to get new stuff so destroyed it? Did she hate me? Was it another reason? I think out of all the things, it's the fact that she hates me, she ever did really want me, she always treated me badly, so was it 'cause the fact that she hated me? I have so many questions but the only people who can truely answer them for me, aren't here anymore.

"Lou? Do you want to go open the stuff from your dad? Since we've got everything on your room."

"Yeah sure. I'm just coming," I answered. We walked next door to Grey's room and sat on the bed next to the box we had placed there earlier. "You can open the one for both of us if you like," I said after an awkward silence.

"No. You can, since he was YOUR father, YOU should open it," Greyson exclaimed.

"Oh alright. Fine," I tried to smile but I knew it looked like I wasn't feeling well or something, it just came out as a grimace, and to be honest, I wasn't actually feeling that great. I slowly peeled back the paper wrapped around the present. I opened it fully to find a big black leather book. On the front had 'Memories shall never fade...' in gold lettering. I opened the book to the first page with a small letter written on it. "Lou, Grey. This book is a book I have written for you both if memories of you two growing up. It took me forever to write but I hope you like it anyway. the other present for you is to do whatever you want with, it's everything I saved for you two being older. Love you both." I turned the page to the first memory, it was the day me and Greyson met.

*flashback*

I was sitting in the park with my mom and dad, we had just finished a picnic and were just sitting in the warm sun. I was about 3 years old, but I still remember it like it was just yesterday. We had decided to play with the kite we had brought along, even though it was sunny it was still windy. We were unraveling it when Grey came over to me and asked if he could play with me. He was my best friend then and he's my nest friend now.

*end of flashback*

We both smiled at all the memories that filled the book. There were some happy ones and some sad ones but it was still an amazing gift, if only my dad was here so I could thank him so much for it.

"Don't forget to open this," I said handing Greyson the small present that was just his and I took my own.

We both stared at our presents wondering what it could be. Grey opened his first, slowly, like I did before, peeling back the paper. Underneath was a bank card and a tiny piece of paper that said 'All my savings split in half for you two.' I couldn't believe my eyes as I saw what he got, I opened mine and it was exactly the same. I really wish I had some kind of way to thank my dad for everything, he didn't need to do any of it. But if he is watching over me, he'll know how thankful I really am.
