I slung my bag over my shoulder and shut and locked the door to my studio. I was rather excited because tonight, instead of going home and making dinner for Alex, I was going out to dinner with Niall, Liam, and their friends. I was a bit nervous about meeting people that I don't know, being the socially awkward person that I am.

I sent the text and pushed the button on the elevator. I was on the very top story of a nine-story building. I entered the elevator and was joined by an older looking lady, maybe in her seventies or eighties.

"Hello," I said kindly.

"Hello, young lady. Aren't you Calista Evans? You're an artist." She stated.

"Yeah, I am Callie. How'd you...?" I asked.

"I'm a huge fan of art, and I always keep up with new artists. I used to be one, a lifetime ago." She informed me, smiling.

"Oh really? That's awesome! You should come visit my studio sometime, maybe you could give me tips and advice." I suggested. The lady beamed.

"I woud love that! Which floor?"

"Floor 9 room C."

"Alright, I'll come drop by sometime. My name is Winnie."

I smiled brightly at the old lady.

"Okay, well I'll see you around sometime." I answered as she exited the elevator.

I walked into the cold, late-November air, shivering but beaming.

"Someone looks happy," Liam said, leaning against the side of a black SUV.

"Yeah, I just met this really nice old lady, and I love old people! Plus, I'm excited for going out to dinner since I haven't in at least a few months." I replied.

He opened the door for me and hopped into the driver's seat, Niall beside him in the passenger's seat.

"Calliiiiieeee!" Niall said cheerfully, unbuckling and turning around, giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey Niall," I replied, giggling.

We made small talk until we arrived to a restaurant. It was cute and small, yet smelled amazing.

"Oh, I see the group back there!" Liam said, linking his arm in mine and leading us towards the table.

We made our way back and I took a seat next to Liam and across from Niall. I turned to my left to see who was next to me on my other side, and I swear I had a heart attack, because sitting next to me was Harry.

Harry, the one who never texted me.

Harry, the one who never called me.

Harry, the one who hadn't left my mind since the day we met.

"H-hi," I said as my brown eyes met his green ones.

"Hello," he answered, studying my face.

Liam tapped my shoulder.

"Are you alright? You look as if you've seen a ghost." he commented.

"I'm fine-" I began, but Harry cut me off.

"She's just surprised to see me here." He answered for me.

"Wait you two know each other?" Liam asked. By now we had gotten the attention of everyone at the table.

"Somewhat. It's a long story." I answered, wanting to avoid talking about how we met and how he said he'd call or text me and he never did, but Harry decided to go ahead and tell the story anyways.

"So I was headed back from the bakery on- what was it? Sunday? Monday?- and it was pouring rain. I saw this girl walking on the sidewalk without an umbrella or jacket or anything and I thought 'what would a girl as vulnerable as her be doing walking outside alone in the middle of a dark street in the pouring rain?' So I picked her up and drove her home since her dick of a boyfriend couldn't take the time to care for her," Harry explained.

"That's so kind!" Eleanor, Louis' girlfriend (who I could already tell was sweet) exclaimed.

"But that's not all." Harry replied as if he were in an infomercial. "So the bakery I work at was having a new logo design done by an artist, and I was asked to go pick up the design. And much to my surprise and pleasure, Callie was the artist! So we talked and she gave me the wrong number!" He exclaimed.

"I didn't give you the wrong number, and Alex is not a dick," I defended.

"Really? Because when I called it all i heard was a drunk old man with music blaring in the background!" Harry said, completely ignoring my comment about Alex.

I looked at the number I had entered into his phone and realized that one of the numbers was a 7 when it was supposed to be a 9.

"Sorry, must've typed in the wrong number." I said guiltily as everyone returned to their normal conversation.

"It's alright. I know that typing your number when someone as sexy and distracting as me is in the same room." He replied arrogantly, flipping his hair and grinning, showing me that he was kidding.

"Yeah, you wish," I scoffed. The teasing continued until our food came to the table. I engaged in conversation with Eleanor, Danielle, and Perrie.

"I have to use the restroom. Do any of you other ladies need to...?" Danielle announced, giving us that look that said 'come to the restroom with me I need to say something that I can't say with these boys around', so we all nodded and made our way to the bathroom. As soon as the door closed, the three girls turned to face me.

"What?" I asked defensively.

"Oh you know what. Harry totally has a thing for you." Eleanor replied eagerly, causing me to laugh.

"Um, no. There's no way. I barely know him!" I protested.

"So? He can't take his eyes off of you! Plus you two were totally flirting." Perrie added.

"I wasn't flirting! I have a boyfriend!" I informed them, and they all stared at me intently.

"What's his name?" They asked, and I knew that the interrogation was about to begin.

"Alex."

"How old?"

"Nineteen."

"How long have you been dating?"

"Two years?"

"So you guys are serious?"

"Yeah." I replied uncertainly.

After the interrogation was over, I sighed with relief and walked out, only to find the boys in deep conversation.

I cleared my throat and they all shut up at once and looked at me.

I awkwardly took my seat and conversation started all at once.

I looked around at the people siting at the table; Zayn, Perrie, Eleanor, Louis, Danielle, Liam, Niall, and Harry.

I could tell that this was the start of great new friendships.

What do you think so far? I've been so busy with softball and training, and it's terrible! Physical excercise is NOT my thing like seriously.
