Callie's POV:

After a long day of painting and sketching, I was more than excited to go home. Just as I sat down on the couch, my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey it's Niall. I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies? The new Star Trek movie is coming out and Harry told me that you had said that you were excited to see it." he said.

"Yesssss of course! That'd be so much fun!" I said happily.

"Great. The movie starts in forty-five minutes. I'll pick you up in ten." he said.

"Okay!"

-*-*-*-*-*-*-

"Okay, so do you want popcorn, a slushy, candy, nachos..." he began listing all of the food choices as we stood in the concessions line.

"Um... How about popcorn and a slushy," I decided. I didn't want to be that girl that says 'oh whatever you want I don't care'.

"We'll have a large popcorn and two slushies." he told the cashier.

"What flavors?"

"I'll take a blue." I said.

"I'll take a red." Niall ordered.

Once we got to the theater, which was packed with people, choosing seats was the hardest. We decided on seats next to an annoying couple. Throughout the whole movie, the girl would pretend to be scared by dumbest thing to use as an excuse to practically sit on the guys lap.

"Look at them," Niall said halfway through the movie, nodding his head towards the couple. "It's really pathetic."

"I know, right? 'Oh no, Spock just talked and it scared me. Help protect me!'" I mocked, causing him to laugh.

"Ugh, couples." he said, scrunching up his nose.

The movie ended and Niall and I were the first to leave the theater, eager to get away from the couple. I was standing outside of the bathrooms, waiting for Niall to be done, when Harry appeared in front of me.

"Hey Cal!" he said, smiling.

"Hey Harry!" I said excitedly, yet I felt a bit nervous.

"Who're you here with?" he asked, his eyes darting around trying to find my companion.

"N-"

"Hey Harry." Niall interrupted, appearing at my side.

"Oh, hey Niall. I assume you're here with Callie?" he asked, his eyes not leaving Niall's. I could feel tension in the air, though I couldn't figure out why.

"Yup. Just saw Star Trek." he said, nodding. I just smiled uneasily. Their words seemed tight, almost as if they were having their own sub-text conversation.

"That's great! Gemma and I just saw The Heat. It was funny." he said.

Niall nodded.

"Well, I suppose I should be going. I'll see you later, yeah?" he asked me.

"Yeah of course." I replied.

He pulled me in for a hug that lasted longer than it needed to. I pulled away and smiled up at him, his tall frame dwarfing my smaller one.

"Bye!" I said. He kissed me on the cheek, also longer than needed, winked, waved to Niall, and walked away.

"What was up with you two?" I asked Niall as we walked to the car.

"What do you mean?" he asked, though I knew he knew what I meant.

I just rolled my eyes.

Harry's POV:

-The next day-

I sighed and threw myself onto the couch in the main room. I was exausted and frustrated that my professor was giving us this huge test in two days. I was very smart, but tests are just not my thing. I mean, I suppose tests aren't anybody's thing, but it's impossible for me to concentrate when all I want to do is be in my room listening to music.

"The boys all went out for a few drinks." I heard someone say from behind me, causing me to jump a little. I hate it when people sneak up on me.

"Why aren't you with them? You love beer," I said to Niall.

"I just wasn't in the mood," he answered, shrugging. "Thought I'd just chill at home."

"Well, that's cool. I need to study but I need food. I'm starving. Wanna come?" I asked, standing up and removing my car keys from my back pocket.

"Sure, I'm a bit hungry myself." he accepted, following me out the door. I could sense his discomfort, obviously from the incident at the movies last night.

"Look," I said once we got in my car. "I think I have feelings for Callie. So sorry, but she's mine."

"She's not yours. You two aren't dating." he reminded me.

"Yeah but she knew me first. Plus we've almost kissed twice." I bragged. I knew that it was stupid and immature for me to be bragging and rubbing it in his face, but I really do like Callie and Niall's a very likable person- she could easily forget about me and go to Niall.

"What does that matter? Look, I'm not going to fight about this with you. I like her too, so how about neither of us get to date her." He said.

"Fine." I replied, trying to sound annoyed. There was no way that I was really going to comply to that rule.
