Callie's POV:

*the next day*

I decided to emerge from my bubble of temporary depression and headed to the studio. I opened the door and flicked on the lights. I began to organize my art supplies before I heard a knock on my door.

I opened it to find Winnie, the old lady I met in the elevator a while ago, standing there.

"Winnie!" I exclaimed happily.

"Hello, Callie. I happened to notice your car in the parking lot, and I realized you haven't been here in a while. I figured I'd come to say hi and catch up." she said, beaming.

"We certainly have a lot of catching up to do. Please, come in." I said, opening the door a little wider for her to come into the studio. She sat on the bright-red couch I had in the middle of the studio.

"So, what's the scoop?" she asked as I sat across from her on the coffee table.

"Well, my boyfriend, Alex, got in a car accident and died. The funeral was a couple days ago." I said sadly.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry, honey! Oh god, that's horrible. How have you been handling it?" she asked, her eyes showing sympathy that I didn't want.

"Well, I was super depressed for a while, but one of my friends, Harry, took me out to McDonalds at, like, ten o' clock last night and it was really fun. He seriously helped me out a ton." I said.

"He sounds like a wonderful lad." she said, grinning.

"He really is."

"Glad to know what you think that about me." a deep voice said from the direction of the door. I turned to see a smirking Harry staffing in the doorway.

"There's this thing called knocking." I scolded, though I tried not to show that I was delighted that he showed up.

"The door was slightly open, and I heard my name." he said, then he turned his attention to Winnie.

"You must be Harry," she said brightly, standing up to walk over to us.

"Yes ma'am." he said, nodding.

"I've heard a lot about you." she said. My face burned in embarrassment as I refused to make eye contact, for I just knew that he was smirking.

"Really? Please do elaborate." he said, his eyebrow raising as he walked over to the couch with Winnie. I didn't want to say anything... Maybe if I'm quiet they'll forget that I'm here.

"Well, Callie has told me about how you're a great guy and such. However, she seemed to have forgotten to tell me that you're very good looking!" she exclaimed.

"Really? She didn't tell you how she practically melts at the sight of me?" he asked. I could sense the teasing tone in his voice.

"Harry!" I said defensively.

"Aw, she's blushing!" Winnie teased.

"I don't blush." I protested.

"Really, then what's that on your cheeks?" Harry asked, poking my cheek. I slapped his hand but couldn't keep from smiling.

"Well, I'd better get going. Callie, I'll see you later. Harry, it was nice meeting you!" she called on her way out.

"Bye!" we called in unison.

"What are you even doing here?" I asked Harry, turning to face him.

"Well I was going to invite you out to lunch, but if you don't want to I'll ju-" he said, but I cut him off.

"I'd love to go to lunch." I said. He grinned, knowing that I would say that. "Just let me finish washing off these paintbrushes" I said.

"You have a cool studio." he said as I washed off a paintbrush, my back to him.

"Thanks. I spend a lot of time here." I said.

"I especially like the Christmas lights. Very... You." he commented.

"Thanks. So... What have you been up to today? Don't you have work or University?" I asked. It as silent for a long time and I worried that I had said something wrong.

That's when I saw a pair of hands grab a paintbrush from over my shoulder. I could fee his chest pressed into my back as we washed the brushes. I'm pretty sure I forgot how to breathe.

"Alright, that was the last one." he said, though he didn't move.

I cleared my throat and walked to grab my bag, trying to regain my mental stability.

"So where are we going for lunch?" I asked.

"Well I haven't completely thought that out yet. Do you like Mexican?" he asked.

"Actually, no. That's the one food I won't eat." I said.

"Geez, someone's a little high-maintenance." he teased.

"Oh shut up." I said, hitting him lightly on the shoulder.

"You know, you kinda hit like a girl." he said, his eyebrow raised.

"I do not! I'll have you know that I am very strong and tough!" I said defensively.

"Fine, fine. I believe you. So you don't like Mexican... Do you like sushi?"

"I LOVE SUSHI!" I exclaimed loudly as the elevators closed.

He laughed as he leaned on the wall of the elevator. "Good, cuz that's where I plan on taking you."

"Thanks for lunch, Harry. It was absolutely amazing." I said as he walked me to the door or my studio.

"yes, it was very fun." he agreed.

"So, um..." he began nervously. "Liam is having this party and I was wondering if you wanted to come with me?"

"Like a party as in... Socializing?" I asked, nervous about the idea of talking to people.

"Well yeah, there'll be people there. But if you want you can just drink and dance. There's not much socializing in that." he suggested.

"Okay, I'll go. When is it?" I asked.

"Tonight at eight, though I like to be fashionably late so I'll pick you up at 8:05 and we'll arrive at 8:15," he said.

"Oh, of course Mr. Styles is too cool to arrive on time." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Also, he's fairly rich so... God, I feel like a idiot for saying this... But just dress in a nice dress. Something tight and short. Wow I sound like a pervert for saying that, but I mean like its a party atmosphere and-" he said, but I cut him off.

"It's okay, Harry. I know what you mean." I said, laughing lightly.

"Okay, well see you tonight!" he said excitedly.
