Harry's POV:
I woke up to the feelings of a soft tap on my shoulder.
"jauhdiajs" I mumbled into my pillow, causing a quiet giggle to sound from beside me. My eyes shot open; why was there a girl in my room?
"What the-" I began, turning over, but stopped when I saw Callie's grinning face a foot away from mine.
"Time to get your lazy butt out of bed. It's almost ten thirty and I made breakfast." she said, pulling on my arm, though it had little effect.
"Aw, you're such a sweetheart. I especially like that you woke me up!" I said sarcastically. I sat up, the blanket falling off of my chest. She averted her eyes and stood up, obviously feeling uncomfortable with my lack of a shirt. I chuckled to myself.
"I'll be in the kitchen. Put a shirt on, creep." she said, walking out, pulling up my large sweatpants she was wearing as they threatened to fall down.
I quickly put on a McFly shirt and walked into the bathroom, brushing my teeth. I didn't want to have bad morning breath.
I walked into the kitchen and saw Callie with her back turned, putting pancakes on a plate. I wanted so badly to walk up and wrap my arms around her waist and kiss her.
But I couldn't.
She's with Alex.
"Smells delicious." I commented, causing her to jump a bit. I laughed; over the past few days I've noticed she has a tendency to get lost in her own thoughts.
"How many pancakes can you eat?" she asked.
"Four." I replied, grabbing the syrup from a cupboard.
She handed me a plate filled with pancakes, causing my stomach to make dying-whale sounds.
"I see someone's hungry." she teased, poking my stomach. I laughed and followed her to the table that was in a room connected to the kitchen.
"How'd you sleep?" I asked.
"Really well. Did the music I fell asleep to bother you? I didn't want it to be too loud-" she said, but I cut her off.
"It's fine. I fall asleep to music too." I replied. She smiled at me, causing this warm bubbly feeling to take over my body. This feeling is foreign to me.
"So... How'd you meet the lads?" she asked, taking a bite of a pancake.
"Through work. Zayn works at the music shop, Louis teaches this drama class thing, Liam helps children with disabilities, and Niall works at a restaurant. All of the businesses are near each other so yeah." I explained.
"Liam works with disabled kids? That is so amazing!" she gushed, causing me to smile tightly, trying my best to ignore the pang if jealousy I felt.
Her phone vibrated on the table. She averted her eyes from mine and looked down at the screen. Instantly her face paled a bit.
"Um, it's Alex. I'll be right back." she said sounding flustered. I nodded as she exited the dining room.
Callie's POV:
"Hello?" I asked, staring down at the floor, nervously tapping my foot.
"Where the hell are you?" he asked.
"Well since you kicked me out yesterday, a friend offered for me to spend the night, so I did." I said, my words venomous.
"Well come home." he stated.
"Why should I?" I challenged.
"Because you're not safe. Just come home."
"Fine. I'll be there in half an hour." I snapped, ending the call.
I walked back into the dining room, but Harry was gone.
"Harry?!" I called, suddenly afraid that he had left me. I wasn't ever one that was dependent on other people, but it seems like everyone I ever need always ends up leaving me.
"In the kitchen!" he yelled. I walked into the kitchen to find it all clean.
"You're good at cleaning the kitchen." I commented. I sat on the counter while he turned the water off in the sink.
"What'd that d- what'd Alex want?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes at his almost-insult. "For me to come back home. Do you mind driving me home? Or is that to much to ask? Never mind you don't need to I can walk-" I started panicking, but he walked over to me and placed a hand on my arm, causing me to stop.
My eyes trailed to my arm, where his finger was tracing circles.
"Relax. I'll drive you home. I'll go get your bag." he said calmly as he removed his hand from my arm. I let out a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding in. When he returned, he handed me my bag and helped me off the counter.
We climbed into the car and I turned on the radio. The song was Thunder by Boys Like Girls (A/N boys like girls might just be one of the best bands ever). I turned it up and grinned at Harry. I began singing loudly, losing myself in the music. Before I knew it, we were at my building.
"Thanka Harry. For everything." I said gratefully, my boring brown eyes meeting his electrifying green ones.
"Anytime. If you ever need anything, and I mean this wholeheartedly, just call me." he said.
"I will." I promised. I gave him a hug that was extremely uncomfortable since we were in the car.
"You're the best friend I've ever had." I said before getting out. For some reason, my statement disappointed me.
Harry's POV:
I don't know why her comment hurt so bad; it was true.
All we are is friends.
And that's all we'll ever be.
