Callie's POV:

The pounding music could be heard from outside the house, where we currently were. The house was glowing with colorful lights as intoxicated people aimlessly roamed the yard. Honestly, I was already completely intimidated.

"You'll be fine, trust me." Harry said, sensing my uneasiness.

"I haven't been to many parties! I don't even know these people." I said as we approached the front door.

"The lads and their girlfriends will be here. Come on, lighten up! Pretty soon you'll be drinking and having a good time." he reminded me. I nodded and he opened the door, revealing something that was foreign to me.

Chaos.

There were drunk people stumbling everywhere, dancing or laughing loudly, their eyes all turning to Harry and I as we entered. I self-consciously straightened out my floral print dress (A/N pic to side).

I clung to Harry's arm, intimidated by everything. I wasn't used to this chaos; usually I just stayed in my studio, listening to music and being alone with my thoughts while I worked on my art.

"I think the lads are in the kitchen. C'mon." he said, leading me through the crowd. I didn't get the idea that I was supposed to wear a short, tight dress just like all the other girls here. Instead I had chosen a cute, non-trashy dress, and I stood out.

We entered the kitchen and found the boys and Eleanor and Perrie all standing in the kitchen, drinks in hand, laughing.

Louis was the first to notice our arrival. "Harry! Callie! Hey guys," he said, causing everyone to turn their attention to us.

"Hey," Harry answered for us. I knew that I shouldn't be nervous around my friends, but with the pounding music and intense smell of alchohol, it seemed as though my whole body forgot how to move and respond.

"Callie!" Eleanor and Perrie exclaimed, fast-walking over to us and giving me hugs. Harry chuckled.

"I'll be talking to the guys if you need me." he said, giving me a grin that seemed to say 'you'll be fine, but I'm here if you need me'.

"Kay!" I said. Within seconds, I was handed a drink and dragged to a couch by the girls.

"I love your dress!" Eleanor gushed as soon as we were seated.

"Thanks! I didn't really know that I was supposed to wear skin-tight short dresses," I replied. "I haven't been to a lot of parties."

"Most of the girls here are just desperate. Plus, you came with Harry so most people will leave you alone." Perrie interjected. My confused look caused her to elaborate. "Harry's just protective, is all."

I nodded, glad that people would leave me alone. I just wanted to be with my friends, or at least these acquaintences (we weren't quite close enough to be friends), and not have to talk to people that I didn't know. A tap on my shoulder caused me to look up.

"Wanna dance?" Harry asked.

"Sure. Will you hold my drink?" I asked Eleanor.

"Of course. Go have fun." she said, motioning to the dance floor.

I took Harry's hand as he led me to the dance floor. Once we got there, he stood across from me as we just danced. Nothing dirty or anything, just danced.

"You having fun?" he asked.

"Yeah, it's nice to get out and be with people who actually like me." I responded. He opened his mouth to answer, but I got pulled farther into the crowd, Harry disappearing into the crowd.
