Callie's POV:
Do you ever just wake up one day feeling empty? That's how I felt.
Moaning, I climbed out from the comfort of my fuzzy purple blanket stolen from the couch and walked into the bathroom. My hair was falling out from the ponytail I had slept in, my plaid pajama pants and old t-shirt crinkled. I sighed, knowing that a client was coming to my studio to discuss a new charcoal drawing they were willing to pay $350 for in less than an hour.
I dressed into a large knit sweater, skinny jeans, and Uggs, straightened my hair, and did my makeup. With my hair dyed red, it was a bit hard to look sophisticated, but luckily I didn't need to look sophisticated- just creative, like an artist.
I grabbed my bag and shoved my phone in my pocket before shutting the door and locking it behind me.
I entered the studio and began to make the studio look presentable for the new client.
At 11:02 a knock on the door sounded. I took a deep breathe and walked quickly to the door.
"Hello, I'm Ryan."
He was extremely good looking. His dirty-blonde hair was gelled up, his brown eyes welcoming, his smile warm.
"Hi, I'm Callie. Here, come on in." I said, taking a step back and opening the door wider, motioning for him to come in.
"Nice studio you've got here." he commented.
"Thank you, it's my home away from home."
He walked around, looking at the art on my walls.
"This is amazing," he commented, looking to me. "How old are you?"
"Eighteen." I told him. His eyes got wide and his mouth hung open.
"Oh my god! These are so amazing! You're very talented." He complimented. He seemed to be rather smart.
"Thank you, I'm flattered." I responded, trying to sound equally as smart.
"So, about that drawing," I said, motioning him to join me on the couch. Papers and pencils were layed out on the coffee table so that he could give me a general idea of what he wanted.
"Yes, of course," he said, breaking out of his trance and following me to the couch. "Well, you see, it's my parent's thirty-year wedding anniversary next week and my mother has always been passionate about art." he explained.
"So, I have a picture of them together and I was wondering if you could recreate it in a charcoal drawing." he said. The idea made my heart melt. It must've been hard work for his parents to stay together for thirty years. That's a huge commitment.
"That's a wonderful idea! I could definitely do that." I said, smiling.
"Great. So here's the picture..." he said, pulling a paper out of his pocket. He handed it to me and I unfolded it. It was a picture of two people on a bench. One of them was a beautiful woman with brown hair, tan skin, and brown eyes, and the other was a man with blonde hair and green eyes.
"How cute." I said, instantly regretting saying that.
"Yes, they are quite good for each other." he said, smiling at me.
"Well, I'll get started on this straight away." I said, smiling back.
"Great! Do you have a phonenumber or email?" he asked.
"Yeah, but my email doesn't seem to be working at the moment, so here's my number," I said, writing it down and handing it to him.
"Thank you!"
