Jeremy POV

"Are you sure your telling me the full story?" I ask as I remove my denim jacket. I didn't want to go around smelling like vervain. I watch as Damon hangs his head and rolls his eyes.

"Yes I'm sure." He says sounding exasperated.

"Then why didn't you ask Elena?" I ask.

"In case you don't remember she's a full fledged vampire now." Damon replies looking at me curiously. I flinch as I remember the fact that she wasn't human anymore. She had died and when she came back she had decided to turn. Leaving Bonny, Matt, and me as the only humans left in the gang. Speaking of Elena...

"Where is she anyways?" I ask looking around the entrance of the boarding house.

"Who?" Damon asks making a confused/annoyed face.

"Elena." I reply just as annoyed. I look behind his shoulder and down the hall. Everything seems deathly quiet no sign of Elena...or Stefan...weird. I'm just about to look away when something catches my eye. In the middle of the hallway there was a red splotch, it looked fresh and it glistened in the visible light. I brush past Damon who seems to be talking but I'm to concentrated on the splotch to pay attention.

"What is this?" I say kneeling next to the puddle. I cautiously touch it and when I pull my fingers back there's a light red color left behind on them. What the-? I bring my fingers close to my face, there was only one thing this could be. Blood. Damon suddenly appears in front of me. He pulls me to my feet and forces me to look at him.

"This is nothing okay, your going to forget you ever saw anything." Damon says. His pupils contract and expand and his eye color lightens, he was trying to compel me.

"That doesn't work Damon, I'm on vervain-" I say glaring at him. "-what really happened here?" I ask gesturing towards the puddle of blood. Damon's face morphs into anger and he lets me go.

"Nothing happened here. I already told you the whole story, it's your choice whether you believe it or not." Damon replies angrily. He runs his fingers through his hair and begins pacing back and forth. His whole body was tense and he was starting to shake.

"Well I don't believe a single word Damon, now tell me what's going on or you can figure out what's going on in the basement on your own." I threaten. In the next second I'm shoved against the wall with Damon's hand wrapped around my throat.

"Now you listen to me, your going to do what I say, when I say it, not because you want to but because your little witch friend's life depends on it." Damon says spitting through his teeth. He was angry but more than that there was something in his eyes that scared me just a little bit. He looked crazy and wild like an animal about to strike.

"Get off him!" Someone says from behind Damon. Damon's hold on my neck releases and he's suddenly flying across the room. He hits the fireplace and falls to the floor before picking himself up. Blood dripped from the edge of his mouth.

"What's the matter with you?-" Stefan asks from his place right next to me. "-you said you'd ask him to help-"

"And I did-" Damon cuts his off. "-but as you can tell he's being uncooperative." Damon spits and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand. He smears blood across the lower part of his jaw.

"I'll help." I say still sounding breathless. I rub my neck and take a few deep breaths. Stefan holds my shoulder firmly and looks at me before speaking.

"Are you sure?" He asks. I nod a few times.

"But...I...need...to...know...one...thing..." I say breathlessly.

"What?" Damon and Stefan ask at the same time.

"What's...going on?" I ask catching my breath....

Damon POV

I sit raging quietly as Stefan tells Jeremy the whole story. I clench and unclench my hands. We're losing time I think to myself angrily. Losing time for what? My mind replies. I clench my jaw angrily and bite my tongue to keep myself from responding out loud, the taste of warm copper fills my mouth. My fangs elongate and I feel the veins under my teeth begin to show. A slight stinging fills my eyes and I know that their darkening. Blood roars in my ears and my vision goes slightly red. Before I can do anything stupid I'm out the door and in the woods. I run without thinking and I keep running. Before I realize what I'm doing I find myself behind a campsite. A young girl was walking around holding a cellphone up.

"Damn it! Still no service!" The girl grumbles. She had black hair with hints of brown. She had a light olive complexion and her lips were a light rose color. My throat burns painfully. This girl kind of reminded me of-before I can think any further I run forward. I grab her arm and turn her around. Shock registers on the girl's face for a brief second before it turns to fear and in the next second I sink my teeth into her throat. I drink her blood greedily, it tasted bittersweet. There was a hint of alcohol in her blood yet it was also slightly sweet. Her blood smelled nothing like- I brake away from her neck and swallow. Blood dripped down my chin and onto my shirt, the girl was lying limp in my arms, her neck a bloody mess. But I didn't care.

I keep drinking from her until her heart stops beating. I look at the girl and all the hunger inside me disappears. My chest feels hollow and I look away from the girl as my vision blurs.

"She can't be dead...she can't be...your not dead...your not dead..." I keep repeating to myself as I hold Brianna's look alike in my arms....
