Tyler POV

"Tyler!" Caroline shouts as she runs towards me. I see a flash as Jeremy and Bonnie get out the car and then Caroline is right in front of me. Her arms wrap around me and I'm suddenly lost in them.

"Where have you been?" She whispers sounding broken. A big lump rises in my throat, I could never explain to her what was going on with me, she would never understand. None of them would ever understand.

"I've been, uh...around." I say into her hair, I wasn't exactly sure what to say. If I said the wrong thing or gave off to much Caroline could easily twist my own words around, she was good at that.

"Around?-" Caroline asks in disbelief. She pulls away from me and I see the anger in her eyes, but beyond the anger I could see the hurt. "-You don't answer any of my calls, you run away when I see you but somehow you have enough time to hang out with Bonnie and Matt!" She shrieks.

"Caroline-" I start as I grab her hands. "-Bonnie's been helping me with the whole Klaus situation. I didn't tell any of you because I didn't want you guys to think something was going on. And you know I always hang out with Matt, I grew up with him, he practically lives at my house for crying out loud."

"Even if I did stay away from Matt, you know he would come looking for me." I add. Caroline looks at the ground and bites her lip. I knew I could explain things to Caroline, the question was whether she believed me or not.

"Is that dirt on your hands?" She asks, changing the topic. I look at my hands, dirt was crusted underneath my fingernails and the palm of my hands were covered in dirt and filth.

"Uh yeah." I quickly respond pulling my hands away. I wipe them on my jeans, I didn't want her to notice the dried blood that was mixed with the dirt. Caroline's eyes narrow but she doesn't say anything.

"Were have you been Tyler?" Jeremy asks as he finally reaches us.

"Around." I reply never taking my eyes off of Caroline.

"So why are you guys here?" I ask finally pulling my gaze away from Caroline. I look at Jeremy who in turn looks at Bonnie.

"I thought you needed Bonnie for something, that's what Matt told us." Caroline replies when no one says anything. I nod and look at Bonnie. Her eyes flash and she gives me a barely noticeable nod.

"Do you guys want to come inside?" I ask after a few seconds of silence. They all nod and start moving towards the house. Caroline and Bonnie walk quickly and I hang back with Jeremy.

"What's going on?" I ask quietly. Jeremy gives me a sideways glance.

"She's been worried sick about you-" Jeremy answers as he stares at Caroline's back. "-where have you been Tyler?" He asks stopping me. I open my mouth to answer but he cuts me off.

"Where have you really been?" He emphasizes as if he knows the lie that is about to roll off my tongue.

"I've been looking for Klaus's body-" I reply looking at the ground. "-Bonnie's been keeping me posted on what's going on, when his body went missing I decided to go looking for it." I add, spreading the lie thin.

"Matt's helping, that's why I've been around him and Bonnie more than usual." I look back up. Jeremy's eyes were narrowed.

"Then can you explain the Wolfsbane bracelet on your wrist?" I asks. Damn. Jeremy never missed anything.

"How do you know it's a-"

"Because it's burning your skin. Vervain wouldn't have that effect on a hybrid." He replies, cutting me off. I swallow. I had to be smart about this, smarter than I would have to be if I was talking to Caroline or Bonnie.

"This way." I say turning my head to the side. I look towards the tree line, if I wanted to tell him, I would have to make sure that Caroline couldn't hear. Jeremy begins walking towards the trees and once we're far enough from the house I hold out my wrist. My heart beats faster as I realize what I was about to do. I had to make sure I could control myself, because if I couldn't, I would end up killing Jeremy.

Jeremy POV

I look down at Tyler's wrist as he holds it out towards me. I notice the rawness and the blisters beginning to form on the skin that was in contact with the red bracelet he was wearing. What did he expect me to do?

"Take it off." He says as if reading my thoughts. I look back down at the bracelet, without giving it a second thought I begin to undo the knot that held the bracelet together. The knot comes undone and I look up at Tyler. He's staring at me intently.

"Be careful-" He says glancing down at the bracelet. "-if things get out of hand, run." I swallow and nod. I slip the bracelet off his skin and Tyler immediately hisses. I look up to find Tyler's eyes squeezed tightly shut.

"Tyler?" I ask slowly. I had no idea what was going on, and Tyler's warning had me on edge. What did he mean 'if things get out of hand'?

"You can't tell anyone-" Tyler says through gritted teeth. "-not even Caroline. Okay?" I nod but then realize he can't see me.

"Yeah." I reply quickly. Tyler waits a few heartbeats before opening his eyes. Shock courses through me.

"I can't control it Jeremy, it won't stop." Tyler's voice is full of desperation, and I watch as his eyes begin flashing between the eyes of a human and the eyes of a hybrid.
