Prologue (The funeral)

*Unknown*

I lean against the tree and watch all the bowed heads and black umbrellas. The rain came down hard and powerful as if God was angry.

I almost laughed at his wife as she cried on the next person shoulder. I would love to get a better look, but I know I don't belong here.

I shouldn't be here.

But here I am. Watching as they lower the coffin into the ground.

Inside my pocket, my phone starts to buzz with a text and I pull it out.

Text: We need you.

Me: How much?

Text: 20,000

I stare at the text, thinking.
Finally I text back.

Me: On my way.

I slide my phone back into my pocket and walk off to my car. Five police men walks past me and I keep it moving.

Driving down the road, I pull over at a mail box and slide my letter inside and kept it moving.

And moving....

Speeding....

Until I crashed.
