12. Charlie

  I shoot up in my sleep, it was dark. I looked to the clock to see it read 1:48 am. I groaned as I hoped it was morning.

  "Something wrong dear?" Anthony asked flipping the page of a book he was holding.

  "Yes, I have to sleep. Your lucky you don't." I sighed.

  "I wouldn't call it lucky, I don't get to dream, just sit and relax well in a world made by your mind. A dream is where you can escape the destroying thoughts of others. It would be peaceful." He smiled.

  "Not when you can't sleep." I said falling back onto the mattress.

  "Would you like help?"

  "Do you have a gift of making someone fall asleep." I laughed.

  "Claiming someone is a gift." He smiled. 

  "Okay," I said rolling my eyes, "I think anyone can do that I'd they set there mind to it."

  "You've changed, not in a bad way, in a surprising way. You are nothing like I'd thought you'd be." He grined, "I saw you being a...don't get me wrong...a killer." I raised an eyebrow, " you living with Aro and all. I thought you'd be out there wearing a cloak and using your power against them, you'd be strong enough to do it."

  "Well, been there done that," I halfed laughed.

  "You can't just let him stay with us, Anthony's not who you think he is." Edward complained, luckily Anthony was out hunting.

  "Edward what are you talking about now." I said rolling my eyes.

  "He has a shield I can't read his mind. And I met Him before." Edward said wrapping his arms around Bella's waist.

  "Edward I think you over reacting." Bella said holding onto his arm.

  "Bella I'm serious,  when I met him the first time he had no shield. Now he shows up shielded from my power."

  "Anthony knew Aro along time ago. He probably got it from him. Aro's protective of what he thinks is his."

  "See, you thought Everlasting had something to hide when she got her because of her shield and you were wrong. Probably the same thing with Anthony, just give him a chance." Bella asked with worried eyes.

  "He's a bad guy, why else would he show up now when Everlasting isn't with Embry?" Edward said looking at me.

  "That doesn't matter." I said, "I have to go." I got up and headed for the front door.

  "Where," Edward yelled after me.

  "Charlie's," I said.

  "Tell him I said hi, and I'll see him tomorrow." Bella shouted.

  "Okay, I will." I said closing the door and getting into my car, okay more like Edward's car I don't have one. 

  I closed the door as I saw a very familiar face with Charlie on the steps, "Charlie?" I questioned.

  "Everlasting," Anthony smiled, " Charlie was just telling me about you coming." 

  "Charlie, hi. What are you doing here Anthony?" I asked looking at the two of them.

  "Nothing really just chatting waiting for you to show up and make it a show for the rest of us to enjoy, is there a problem, my dearest Everlasting?" He smirked at me.

  "Not at all," I fake smiled at them, Charlie is off limits for any vampire, and I think Bella would agree on this one.  

   I swear if he's up to something like getting under Edward's skin, he's going to just hurt someone. Like Edward who thinks he can take on a vampire that's like 10 times older than himself.
