"I love your tree!" I said as I circled Steven's Christmas tree "It's huge! We don't have one nearly as big" I touched a branch and closed my hand over it, pulling it a little and checking my hand, seeing no pine needles "And so alive!"
"I'm glad you like the tree honey, but do you think you can help me hang up some of these decorations?" Steven laughed.
"Oh, of course! I'm sorry" I said and turned around, smiling at Steven, who was on a step ladder, straightening the star on the tree.
"It's alright, just hang up the Christmas vines" Steven said, pointing at the Morning Glories.
I grabbed them and waited for Steven to get off the step ladder so I could take it. Once I did, I leaned up on my tippy toes in the ladder to put the vine up, and felt myself teetering dangerously forward "Woah, Woah..." I said, trying to get my footing back when I felt an arm wrap around my waist from behind me, keeping me balanced. I turned my head and looked up at Steven, who was helping me put the vines up "Thanks" I said, and we got the vine up, Steven keeping his arm around me.
After about an half hour, everything was set up for the night, besides the food. Steven and I sttod in the middle of the room, examinging the house "I think we made a good team" Steven said.
"Team? You did most of the work, I tried not to break anything" I joked, pulling on my sweater. I had come over in a sweater and jeans, my clothes for the party in a bag by the corner. Steven suggested I do that, so I didn't get my clothes dirty. I told Gabriel and my sibilings I was going to New York early, and none of them raised an eyebrow.
"It's snowing again" Steven said, nodding outside. I grinned, watching the snow fall on the already snowy ground.
"Come on, we have time to stand out there for a few minutes, don't we?" I said, already walking to the door that lead to the back yard. I ran to the middle of the yard, and stuck my tongue out to catch the flakes, laughing a little. Suddenly, I felt something cold and wet hit the side of my neck and go down my sweater. I spun around and looked at Steven, who was laughing. Oh, okay. I bent down and scooped up some snow and packed it together, chucking it at Steven.
It didn't take long before we were having a full fedge sniwball war. It was fun, acting like kids and pelting each other, Until Steven accidentally threw one in my face and I fell ass over tea kettle into the snow.
"Amy!" Steven yelled and in a flash he was hovering over me "Oh baby, I'm sorry" Steven held out his hand to help me up.
"It's okay Steven" I said and loked at his hand, grabbing it and pulling him down with me.He put his arms out on each side of my shoulders so he didn't fall on me. I smiled at him as he hovered just inches above me. I'm not sure what, but something came over me. I leaned up and kissed Steven. And he kissed me back. The next few minutes were bliss.
"Steven? Where are you?" A voice from inside the house called.
We both jumped at the voice and Steven got up to see who it was. For a minute I was scared it might be Erin, but I realized that the voice was to masculine, and Steven said that Erin was out of town for family things. I got out of the snow and shook it out of my hair before walking back inside. I turned the corner and saw Steven talking to an attractive man that seemed to be around the same age as him, with dark hair and white in the front, almost like Steven's, and... what I guess was supposed to be a mustashe. The man spotted me and raised an eyebrow.
"Hello?" The man said. Steven turned around and smiled at me, walking over and wraping his arms around my shoulder.
"Amy, this is Joe. Joe, this is my friend Amy." Steven introduced.
"Joe?" I said. I knew I knew that name, but my mind was a little jumbled from before. I looked at Joe and smiled "Oh, Joe Perry! Nice to finally meet you! Steven talks about you all the time!" I said and shook his hand.
"Same here, Amy. Steven's mentioned you, glad I could put a face to the name.
I smiled at Joe and Steven and felt like I may have walked into a conversation I shouldn't have. "Um, I am going to go get ready" I said sheepishly and ducked under Steven's arm and started going up the stairs.
"What's going on?" I heard Joe say "What about Erin?" And after that it was intense whispering that I couldn't hear.
______
"So this is the famous Amy!" One of Steven's friends and bandmates, Tom Hamilton, said as he gave me a hug "We thought Steven must have made you up"
I giggled and hugged Tom "Oh no, I'm as real as you honey!" I said as we broke the hug of and turned towards Joey Kramer
"I thought he was just hiding you" Joey laughed
"Why would he have to hide her? We're good people" Brad said as I turned to hug him. I laughed again.
"I'm glad he didn't hide me for long. It's so nice to meet you guys!" I said as Steven put his arm around my waist.
"I'm going to steal her away for a little, I'll bring her back later" Steven said and we walked into the crowd of party goers.
The night was amazing. The people I met! Axl Rose, Nikki Sixx, Mick Jagger, Jon Bon Jovi, Joan Jett, I mean, everyone was there. I was pretty much glued to Steven's side, though at one point I really had to pee. And there was a line. And as I was waiting in line to pee, some model decided to make conversation. I wouldn't have minded as much if she wasn't waisted.
"I thought Steven was engaged to that Erin girl" The woman slurred as she tried to put my arm around my shoulders, but hit my face instead "Unless you're Erin"
"No, I'm Amy" I said, pushing her hand away "And he is engaged to Erin."
"Where's Erin?"
"Out of town" I said, a little annoyed.
"Oh! I get it" The model girl said and leaned over "You're his secret girlfriend, aren't you? The way he's been parading you around here when his fiance is gone." The model smirked "Don't worry, I won't say a word" She put a finger to her lip and winked, staggering away before I could protest.
Is that what these people were thinking? No, no way. They knew I was a friend. Steven was making it pretty clear.
______
It was around midnight by the time people were leaving. I was pretty tipsy at this point, and I was swaying back and forth to keep my balance. Luckily, Steven still had his arm around me as he said bye to his party guests. I leaned on to him as the room started spinning. I closed my eyes and buried my face in Steven's shoulder "I don't feel so good" I said.
Steven frowned "Just a few more minutes baby, and then I'll bring you upstairs, okay?"
"Alright" I said and gripped the back of Steven's shirt, waving goodbye to everyone.
Finally, Steven brought me upstairs. He was pretty much dragging me into a bedroom. I looked around "Is this your room?" I said sleepily.
"Yeah, do you mind? It's the closest to the bathroom and if you get sick I can hold your hair" Steven said as I laid in the bed.
"It's fine" I yawned "I had so much fun tonight Steven. I always do with you. God you're amazing" I said as I buried my face in the pillow "I think I love you" I mumbled quietly as I fell asleep.
I didn't know he heard.
