"You may not know this, Steven, but I'm kind of clumsy" I said as I walked blindly in front of me, eyes closed and hands covering them "So please don't let me walk into something and fall" I giggled and stepped forward, feeling something snap under my foot "What was that?"
"Just a stick! Relax, you're fine, we're almost there anyway" Steven told me as he held me by the shoulders, guiding me on the path.
"How come we couldn't drive to wherever we're going?" I asked, turning my head to his direction
"It's much more fun this way!" Steven answered
"I'm going to kick you for this" I threatened
"No you won't"
"Yes I will"
"I don't think you will"
"Don't second guess me, Tyler."
"You'd kick someone you love?"
"Yes. Not hard, but I still will."
Steven just laughed and stiffened his grip on my shoulders "Stop, there's a squirrel. Don't step on it's tail"
"Did it pass?" I asked, hovering my foot in the air "Please tell me I can put my foot down, I look stupid enough"
"Yes, it passed" Steven said and pushed me forward gently "And you don't look stupid."
"Really? Not even with my hands covering my already closed eyes and stumbling all over the place?" I said, shaking my head. "Where are we, anyway?"
"We're in New Hampshire" Steven said and leaned towards me "It's not possible for you to look stupid, by the way"
I smiled a little "Thank you"
"And even if I thought you would, I offered to tie something over your eyes"
"Yes, you did" I agreed "But that would kind of make it look like you were kidnapping me and planning to kill me." I felt Steven's grip stiffen again "Another squirrel?" I asked, stopping.
"No, we're here" He said and puled my hands from my eyes as I opened them.
I gasped. We stood in front of a beautiful home, surrounded by the woods, and I could see a body of water just behind it "Oh wow" I sighed "Is this your home?"
"Yeah, I practically grew up here. Spent every summer here" Steven explained and ushered me inside "I'll bring the car up okay?" Steven said and left, leaving me in the house.
I walked around, amazed by how beautiful it was. I saw a piano at the corner and grinned. I kind of expected that. I walked up and gently touched the keys, listening to the sounds come out of them. I tapped a few more of the keys, holding them down and letting the note play a little longer when I heard the door open. Steven walked up behind me and I turned my head to look at him, letting go of the key.
"You play?" Steven asked.
"God no. I wish" I said and went around the piano "Could you play a song though?" I asked and smiled.
"Sure" Steven said, sitting down.
I watched as he started playing a song, Home Tonight, and went straight into Dream On. I watched him with admiration. If it was possible, I think I may have fell for him more since we got to the house. I listened as Steven finished it with another song, Fly Away from Here.
"All of those songs were so beautiful" I said, sighing again.
Steven smiled ear to ear and looked out the window "Come on, I want to do something while it's still light out" He said, getting up and taking my hand.
