Chapter 10

A/N: in this chapter Burnie refers to Kailey as herself and not her made up name Kabrean, just to let you know in advance so you don't get confused.

( Burnie's POV)

After attempting to wish Kailey a happy birthday and her getting mad I was about to go do the stuff I had planed when an idea popped into my head. By the end of the day I'd told all of the employees and we had got a cake and we were all ready to go into the achievement hunter office where she was all alone editing. Quickly we all piled into the small office with out her noticing. " HAPPY BIRTHDAY KABREAN! " We all say at once. She turns around and sees me in front with the cake in my hands with the 22 candles lit. " Burnie, did you seriously tell EVERYONE in the office. " Yep now blow out all the damn candles and make a fucking wish! " I say happily. She rolls her eyes and blows out the candles. " What'd you wish for?! " Gavin asks. " Well if I told you wouldn't come true." She laughs saving her progress on final cut. She looks at the frosting text on the cake. It said " Happy 22nd and welcome to the Family. " I swear I saw he eyes tear up. " You didn't have to go through all the trouble to do this guys. " Kailey smiles a little. " We wanted to! And I don't know why you reacted so much about it earlier today. " Michael chuckles. " Well things don't usually go my way on my birthday lets just say that. " she responded. " Anyways Lets eat some cake! " I say happily, Barbra handing me the plates and the cake knife. I saw Ray glare at the cake in disapproval and we all laugh. We ate cake we drank ( except for Ray and Kailey cause they d0n't do alcohol. ) and we had a good time. Finally everyone in the office fully introduced themselves to her. By around 9:30 everyone decided it'd be best to head home so we all say our ' Good byes ' and ' Good nights ' before everyone left to go home.

( Rays POV )

After Kailey and I get into my car everything was silent. " Why didn't you tell me it was your birthday?" I ask calmly. " Cause of what just happened, whenever I tell people it's my birthday they try and go out of their way to make it special. The thing is, when I was younger all of my friends would either be away or to busy to come to my birthday and it'd only be 3 kids including myself so I've learned not to expect anyone to give a shit about my birthday! That's why Ray! " she says sighing. " Oh my god I'm sorry I didn't know!" I say leaning over and hugging her. She hugs back almost immediately. I slowly slide her beanie off her head and I set it on the back seat. " Come on let's go home now . "I say slipping the key into the ignition at starting up the car. When we get back to the apartment Kailey doesn't even bother taking off her clothes she just laid down on the couch. " Kailey you alright? Your cheeks are really flushed. " I say putting a hand on her cheek. Almost right after I said that she starts coughing. " Yeah, I think I'm sick, I was starting to get it before I came here to Austin but I guess it decided to get me sick now. But don't worry I'm fine, I'll be able to go to work tomorrow. " she smiles lightly. " No you won't you're going to stay here and rest and if we need you for a lets play we can call you on Skype, you should get some rest now Kailey. " I say getting a blanket for her. " Thanks Ray, good night. " she says before turning her back to me and tries to fall asleep. " Good night....." I say before turning on my heel and going to my room.
