CHAPTER14

Ana and Bella don't know if they should be mad or angry at Albert's presence in Melanie's cafe.

They are about to talk when Melanie appeared from the kitchen. They didn't have time to block Albert from her sight.

"Hello, girls, this is my boss, Albert Roque. Boss, these are Kevin's friends- Ana and Bella Mortiz, couins and Melanie Mendez, the owner of this cafe," Derrick introduced.

Melanie stared at Albert. She can't believe what she is seeing. The boy she longed to see, the boy she waited for seven years, is finally standing in front of her, in the flesh.

Melanie isn't sure what to feel at that moment. Her eyes met Albert's eyes. She saw the sadness in Albert's eyes.

Kevin approached Mel and got the tray of food. She held her and escorted her to the chair. Derrick patted Albert and he took his seat too. No one spoke a word. Ana and Bella decided to close the store for the day.

"Are you okay, Mel?" Kevin asked holding her hand.

"I, umm, I think I need to go home, Kevin," Mel replied. I don't feel well today. Can you look after the shop and finish my job here?"

"Umm,,, sure, Mel. Ana and Bella will take you home," Kevin replied.

Mel walked her way back to the kitchen. Albert decided to follow her.

"Sorry, bro, employees only can enter the kitchen," Kevin said.

"But why can you go there?" Albert asked.

"Well, as you can see, I am the co-owner of this cafe. So I have the right to go inside."

Albert saw Melanie leaving the cafe from the back door. She attempted to approach her but the girls nodded at him and told him to stop. Ana and Bella left the cafe with Melanie.

"I think you and I have to talk," Kevin said,

"I don't need to explain myself to you, Kevin," Albert said. "The only one I'm talking to is Melanie. And I need to talk to her right now. So if you please let me go, I think I need to follow them."

"Sorry. I am Melanie's friend. I care for her. So if you don't explain yourself right now, I will make sure you will never ever have a chance to meet her again. I don't care if you are the boss if my friend here. You hurt Melanie, you answer to me."

There was once again silence. Derrick is confused right now. He decided to leave the table so Kevin and Albert can talk.

"I think I have a clue as to who you are, man," Kevin said.

"I am Albert Roque, childhood friend of Ana, Bella and Melanie," Albert said.

"I think I know now. You don't have to explain anymore, I know why Melanie left. And I think you really need tot alk. But let me warn you, Albert. If you ever hurt her, you will answer to me."
