CHAPTER 23

        Albert and Melanie came out of the office holding each other's hand. Ana and Bella didn't have to ask any questions. Those were Melanie's eyes that they have been missing these past seven years.

Food was delivered from the kitchen for them to share. Derrick was also there quietly observing the scene in front of him. Him and Ana started a conversation and they immediately clicked!

"So, am I the firth wheel here now?" Bella uttered rolling her eyes. "Where is Kevin when you need him?"

"Is someone missing me?" Kevin exclaimed from the door.

"Speaking of the devil, the devil has arrived." Melanie said making everyone laugh.

Kevin's bubbly face disappeared when he saw Albert sitting beside Melanie. He didn't expect things to happen this easily. He greeted everyone and sat beside Bella.

Bella can see the look on Kevin's eyes. After eating together, Derrick and Albert left the cafe leaving Melanie, Kevin and the cousins behind.

Bella whispered something to Ana.

"Guys, we'll go on ahead. I remember, we have something to do back at the office," Bella said.

Kevin looked at Melanie. She is happy. He never saw that kind of happy face in Melanie before. Jealous took over him. She didn't even pay attention to the things Melanie is telling him about what happened earlier.

"Stop, Melanie. I don't wanna hear it anymore," Kevin suddenly said.

Melanie was surprised with what Kevin said. She didn't expect him to say things like that to her.

"I'm sorry. Was I too loud? I am just happy things are back to normal between me and Albert.

"Look, Melanie. I get it. He is back in your life. I think I am not needed here anymore. Go to Albert if you want to."

"What's wrong with you, Kev? You were the one who told me tot alk to Albert. So why are you being like that? I don't get you, right now..."

"He was gone for seven years. He appeared here bringing her girlfriend who has a problem with you, thought you are not doing anything wrong to her. Then he comes to you saying sorry then you easily forgave him? And you kissed him!"

"What is it to you? You know how I feel for Albert even way before we first met!"

"That is the very same reason why I am like this now, Melanie. I know what you felt. And I don't want to see you hurt again."

"I love him, Kevin. I don't want to be separated from him again. That is why I accepted him again in my life."

"And how about me, then? Haven't I proven myself to you, Melanie?"
Melanie looked at Kevin. That was so unexpected.

"Sorry, Melanie. I should have not said that. But I can't keep my feelings forever. I have loved you since I saw you crying back then. This love is not just friendship love. You are a woman many men will fall for. And sadly, I am one of that men. But, I see clearly that your heart is only for one man."

Kevin ran out of the office. Melanie was left in there thinking over everything that just happened.

"This is so stupid!" she yelled.

Crying herself out in her office, Melanie has never been so confused in her life.
