This year, as a birthday surprise, my parents had sent me abroad to Australia at my aunt’s house for the summer. I was really excited and couldn’t wait to leave and take my plane towards a new adventure.

The big was here as I woke up early that morning, getting my bags in front of the door before my parents were even dressed. I was just really excited! Finally, after what felt like an eternity, my parents loaded up the car and we headed towards the airport. The silence of the car ride was filled with small talk as we drove towards our destination. My dad parked his car in the parking; we got my bags out and went to the sign in.

After about an hour of standing in line to check in my luggage, saying goodbye to my parents and passing through security, I was sitting at the gate, waiting eagerly for my flight to arrive. The time passed by slowly as I played little games I had downloaded on my phone. “Passengers directed towards Sidney, Australia, please present yourselves to the gate as we are about to start boarding soon. I stood up, took my carry on and plane ticket, placing myself in line. This was it!

The flight was long and boring, but I slept half way through it. The feel of the wheels coming out from under the plane jerked me awake. I looked out the window to see us passing over a beautiful city; the one I'd be staying in for the summer, the one I'd get to experience to the fullest.

The plane landed and I sprug to my feet, getting my carry on, before heading out of the plane. I went to the baggage claim and it seemed that luck was on my side since it was one of the first to come out. I looked trought the crowd of people, looking for my aunt Nancy. I walked around, looking left and right before I saw her walk into the airport, looking everywhere for what I'm guessing was me. "Aunt Nancy!" I greeted, running towards her. She turned around and looked at me before opening her arms to ingolf me into a hug. "I missed you so much doll! My, how've you grown!" She admited, looking at me from top to bottom. I hadn't seen her in almost 4 years and I had really missed her.

We rolled my suitcase to the car, sat in and she drove us to her house, telling me what were the plans for the summer. We arrived at her little condo that was in downtown Sidney, she showed me my room before announcing to me that she had to finish some work this afternoon. I sat down on the sofa, not sure what to do. "Why don't you go walk around outside?" Aunt Nancy suggested, poking her head through the door of her study. "But what if I get lost?" I ask, looking at her. "Well... here... is... the... adress and here's some money. Just get a taxi back here if you get lost!" she said, handing me money and a scrap of paper with the address written on it. I got off my butt and headed to the door. "Y/N?" my aunt asked, from her computer. "Yeah?" I asked, my hand on the doorknob. "Be safe!" she called out to me. I laughed and opened the door.

I stood on the streets of Sidney, not sure where to start first.... I decided that I didn't care if I got lost, as long as I explored this city and discovered it, I'd be fine. I walked through an outdoor mall, looking at the clothes in the window. Some of the shops we had back home but some of them I didn't know yet. I walked around, clearly lost, before arriving close to a park. I walked around, watching the life of Sidney all around me as it passed trough. I sat down on a bench and took out my phone.

"Ashton! That was rubish!" I heard a voice say not far from me. I looked up to see four guys playing soccer not too far away. They were all doubled over because of laugher for some reason. I took my gaze back to my phone and continued to scroll through Tumblr. The yells from the boys had stopped and been replaced with loud whispers that I barely took notice. A shadow fell upon my screen as I realized that someone was standing in front of me. I looked up to see one of the boys. "Hey, I'm Ashton, I couldn't help but notice a beautiful girl like you sitting here all alone." He said, obviously flirting with me. A smile crept on my lips as I tried to contain my laughter. I heard Ashton's friends crack up behind him, laughing out loud, making him turna deep shade of red. "I think I should..." He started, turning away. "No, Ashton, it's fine!" I reasured him, holding him back by the hand. He smiled at me before taking a seat.

We talked for hours, just sitting there and getting to know each other. I discovered that he was in a band called 5 Seconds of Summer with his friends that were there earlier and he even offered to show me around the city. "Ashton, I should really head back since I have no idea where I'm going!" I said, looking at the time. He looked slightly crest fallen but he got up with me and we started to walk. "Where does your aunt live anyway?" he asked as we walked down multiple streets. I showed him the address and he steered into the right direction.

"I had a great time talking to you Y/N and I really hope that you'll call me so we could so something together... like tomorrow..." he said, stopping in front of the building's front entrance. "I'd love to Ashton! I think my aunt has a meeting all day so I should be good!" I smiled at him. We stood there in silence, not sure of what to do. He put a hand on my arm, pulling me closer to kiss me on the cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow!" he yelled, crossing the street and dissapearing from view.

I entered my aunt's appartment, getting engulfed into a hug. "Y/N! I was so worried!" She said, releasing me. "Sorry, I lost track of time. I made a new friend." I explained, the memory of Ashton coming into my mind.
