Louis was lying on his bed with his laptop, going through his Facebook. It was his mothers birthday again and he knew it would be boring like always. He was hoping Jay wouldn't notice his absence and he would be able to stay in his room all day.
Sadly, Lottie came up to his room, telling him to get him butt down stairs. Louis groaned but obeyed anyways.
He walked down the stairs and to the living room. Gemma and Harry were sat bon his couch, talking. Louis walked over, smiling down at Gemma. "Hey, can I sit here?" Louis asked, looking at the spot next to her. She nodded and he took a seat.
His friends were starting to bother him about the fact that he didn't have a girlfriend yet. Gemma was very pretty and only a year older. He was hoping he could work his charm on her. It worked on everyone else.
Louis was very popular at school. Every girl wanted to be with him but he was never really interested. But he somehow liked Gemma. Sure, he never really talked to her but that didn't matter.
"It's weird how we only see each other once a year, isn't it?" He smiled at her. She smiled back. "It is. I always see Jay come over to our house but you always seem to be busy."
Louis shrugged. "If I would've known I would have the pleasure to see you there, I would always go." Gemma giggled. "I live there, of course you would see me."
Harry leaned over on Gemma's lap, looking up at the two teenagers. "What's so funny Gem?" He asked. Louis internally groaned. He had forgotten about Harry's existence.
The young boy had grown up since last time. Louis could see that Harry would be handsome one day and that all the ladies would be after him. But for now, he was just annoying.
"Just Louis saying jokes is all." Harry's eyes widened. "I know a few good jokes too Louis! Want to hear one?"
"Not really." Louis answered. Harry ignored it, wanting to tell Louis his joke. "Why did the baboon say to the giraffe 'why the long face?'"
Louis rolled his eyes. He had no way out of this one. "I don't know. Why?"
"Because he thought his neck was his face!" He then started laughing like it was the funniest thing ever. Louis smiled, finding Harry quite funny. He wouldn't actually admit it though.
"Oh I have another one that a big kid at school told me. I don't get it and he said that only big kids understand it. You're a big kid so you'll get it." Louis shrugged. "Go for it."
"Want to hear a joke about my penis?" He asked with a small smile. Louis coughed, choking on his own saliva. Gemma's eyes widened but she stayed quiet.
"Wha-"
"Never mind it's too long." Harry interrupted Louis. Gemma and Louis starred at Harry for a moment, taken back by such a joke at his age.
Then, Louis started laughing. Hard and loudly. He couldn't help it. The joke was funny after all and the fact that Harry said it made it even better. Harry started laughing along even though he didn't know why.
Gemma glared at Louis. The older boy then calmed down, wiping away some tears. "I think you should stop talking to those big kids Harry." He said.
Harry stopped laughing too. "If you say so Louis." The older boy then looked back at Gemma with a smile. "I didn't know you were good with kids." She said, leaning in closer to him. He smirked, putting an arm around her shoulders.
"I'm good with everyone." He winked and she giggled once again. Louis couldn't believe it but he already found her giggling annoying. This relationship had a bad start.
Harry sat next to them while they talked with a frown. Each time Louis laughed or smiled, Harry's smile deepened. Louis noticed that.
They were soon called out in the backyard for the cake. This time, Louis stood behind Lottie who sat next to Jay. He felt someone tug on his shirt and looked down. "Louis, I can't see anything. Can you pick me up?" He threw his arms in the air, waiting for Louis to pick him up. The older boy frowned. "You're seven now. Aren't you too old to get picked up?"
Harry gave him puppy eyes and stuck out his bottom lip. "Please Louis." Louis rolled his eyes but picked up Harry anyways. The smaller boy smiled, wrapping his arms around Louis' neck. The cake then came out and everyone started singing.
Jay handed Harry and Louis each a piece. Louis then walked them to where Gemma was sitting. Louis sat next to her with Harry on his lap. They all ate while Gemma and Louis chatted. Harry would interrupt them from time to time to tell Louis something unimportant. Louis didn't mind it though.
Gemma got annoyed when Harry interrupted them to tell Louis about his new shoes. "Shouldn't you go play or something? We're trying to have grown up talks right now Harry." Harry's eyes watered and he listened to what his sister told him. He got off Louis' lap and walked away to another part of the yard. Louis frowned but went back to talking with Gemma.
A few hours later, Louis excused himself from Gemma saying he needed to use the bathroom. He walked inside, spotting Harry sitting on the couch. The small boy silently sat there while he watched everyone chat. Louis went over and sat next to him. "Why are you sitting here all alone? You could maybe play with my sisters."
Harry shook his head. "I don't want to play with them. I want to play with you." He said. Louis smiled, patting Harry's head. "Now you love Gemma more then me." Harry mumbled, looking down at his lap.
Louis let out a sigh. "Of course not Harry. I'll always love you more." The small boy looked up at the older one. "Promise?" He held out his pinky, making Louis chuckle. He hooked their pinky's together. "I promise."
