Louis and Gemma dated for a few months but it was obvious to everyone that it wasn't working out. Louis liked her but not enough to kiss her and be with her. Gemma had to leave for university anyways so it worked out for everyone.

Louis was now 18 and making plans to move out. He loved his family and all but he needed some space. Sadly, he didn't have a job or money yet so he was stuck at home. Worst of all, it was Jay's famous birthday party. Louis was hoping that Gemma wouldn't show up this year. He didn't want things to be awkward.

The boy was in the kitchen, helping Jay make food for the party. "Have you met anyone new?" Jay asked her son. Louis was hoping that this question would never come. In fact, he had met someone and fallen in love. The only problem was that that person was a boy who was a few years younger then him.

Louis shrugged. "I guess." He answered, keeping his attention on what he was doing. His boyfriend was still in high school, being only 16 years old. He had met the boy a year earlier but developed feelings for him only a few months ago.

Jay smiled. "What's her name?" She asked. Louis stopped doing what he was doing completely. He placed his hands on the counter, looking down at its white surface. "His name is Niall."  Jay froze, looking over at her son.

She put a hand on his shoulder. "When will I meet him?" She asked with a small smile. Louis looked up at her with a smile of his own. "Not yet. And please, don't tell anyone." Jay agreed and people started arriving.

Louis' friends all knew about him and Niall but that was it. He wasn't ready for the whole world to know. He wanted things to go slow.

Louis went outside and sat on a chair while he waited for everyone to get there. He closed his eyes, leaning back. He soon felt someone poke his arm. "Louis, are you dead?" Harry asked in a small voice. Louis opened an eye to see the small boy. He smiled, closing his eye again. "Nope. Still alive."

"Good. I'm not strong enough to drag your body anywhere." Louis frowned, opening his eyes. "Why would you drag my dead body anyways?" He asked.

Harry shrugged. "Bring you to a place that makes you happy." Louis smiled. "That's not how it works buddy."

Harry stared up at Louis in silence, as if waiting for something. Louis raised an eyebrow at him. "What is it?" He asked.

"Gem said you were a dickhead and the worst boyfriend she ever had." Louis frowned. That had broken up in peace and never fought. He didn't understand why she would say such a thing about him.

He thought he was an amazing boyfriend. He took her out, cuddled her and bought her flowers. What else did he have to do?

"She said that?" Harry nodded. Louis rolled his eyes. He didn't like her that much anyways so it didn't bother him.

"Well, I'm a great boyfriend." He said with a smirk. Niall always told him how great he was. He was going to believe Niall way before he believed Gemma.

Harry nodded. "I'm sure you were. You're the best friend I ever had after all." Louis smiled. "Why thank you."

"No problem. Want to play cars with me?" Louis smiled and shook his head. "Sorry bud. I'm out of energy for now. Maybe later." Harry frowned but nodded. He then ran away to go play with the other kids.

Louis leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes again. He wondered what Harry would think when he learned that he was gay. He was hoping that the small boy wouldn't mind. Even if he only saw Harry once a year, the boy meant so much to him.

"Louis. Wake up." Louis opened his eyes, seeing Harry pull on his pants. The sun had disappeared and most people had left the party. Louis frowned, rubbing his face.  He had accidently slept through the whole party. He was confused as to why no one woke him up but ignored it. People probably just didn't notice him.

"I wanted to say goodbye before I left." Harry said with a smile. Louis sat up, opening his arms for Harry. The small boy jumped in them, hugging the older boy.

"Sorry I slept the whole time. I'll see you next year." Harry nodded before running back to his mom.
