Emily did tell me about her weight loss but I never thought it could be something serious. And what could it be?

All these things are seriously driving me crazy!
Can my life be a bit less complicated? I mean I was just hoping for the things to be better and now things seem to be worse than they ever were.
DING DONG
Ah! Finally Peter is here. I just hope that today aunt Cara will answers all the questions that I have.
"Good morning sir,"
"Hey Peter."
"Here is your letter sir. Have a nice day."
"Is everything alright Peter?"
"Yeah sir. Just tired."
"Oh! Alright. Thank you."
He passed a faded smile and walked away.
I walked inside to my couch and calmly took out the letter from the envelope even when all I wanted to was just rip apart the thing covering the letter, my letter.
But I became a human from a beast when I saw Emily's handwriting.
Dear Stranger,
Stranger? Why am I writing a letter then? Anyways, I am writing this because aunt Lily sorry aunt Cara asked me to. So all those things that you are gonna read down are not exactly my words but that of hers. But then those are true and nearly what I feel.

I know all these things are really awkward for you and that you might not feel so good after reading this. But I have been told that one should always keep the promises he or she makes. And an author once said and I quote "Love is keeping the promise anyway".
I have seen you a couple of times in the past few days in the photographs and to be frank my heart really races when I see you. There's this sudden gush of emotions when people talk about you, talk about us.
I don't know when did "us" exist and I don't know how things were between us. But I do know this that I loved you at some point and so did you, right?
Anyways, all I wanted to say was that a part of me is missing. I can't actually figure out the reason.
