Sorry Cam, but the dogs cuter😂^

Cameron

I watched as she walked away from me. As her long brown hair swayed from right to left, and blowing against the wind. The sound of her heels hitting the ground became more and more distant. I couldn't let her walk away from me... Again. I didn't want her to leave sad and gloomy. I wanted her to be happy.

I got out of my truck and jogged after her. My loud footsteps were loud enough to catch her attention, because she turned around and looked at me.

"Why are you still prowling after me?" She asked. The tone in her voice sounded annoyed, and snappy. "You had your time to talk, and now it's over. Thank you for buying me lunch, now as you can see, I have to go. Have a good day".

She turned back around, and continued to walk.

"Avery". I call, desperate for her to look at me again.

"What Cameron?" She spat, with her back still facing me.

I paused for a moment. "I just want you to know, that I still care about you. I want you to know that I care for you. And Olivia. It might not seem like I do, but trust me, I do... I just want you to keep that in mind".

By now, the tears that dwelled in my eyes, threatened to spill out. My voice croaked, making it obvious that I was about to break down.

She remained quiet, so I thought that it's best if I leave now.

"If you don't want me in your life anymore, I understand. I'll go now..."

I turned around and began to walk away. My feet dragged against the ground, kicking the pebbles that laid in my way.

"Cameron wait". I hear her voice desperately call.

I turned around, hoping that what she's about to say doesn't end up being rude, because that's all that's been coming out of her mouth... Mean, negative words.

"I-I'm sorry". She stutters.

"For what?" I ask politely.

"You're trying really hard to be nice to me, and I'm just treating you like shit".

She wiped away another loose tear, and wiped under her eyes.

I didn't know if her apology was real or not. It was hard to tell from her hesitation, and her murmuring.

"It's okay". I say, bringing my hand up, and running it through my tangled hair. "I deserve it anyways".

I pulled my lip between my teeth as I felt a tear escape my eye. Now that a tear managed to escape, I felt like I was going to burst into tears now.

And I was right. Soon enough, a river of tears streamed from my eyes, spilling everywhere.

Avery's facial expression softened, and her eyebrows creased together.

She walked over to me, and wrapped her arms around me, embracing me into a hug.

The feeling of her touch engulfed me into a blanket of warmth. I missed this feeling. I missed everything that she'd brought into my life. From her laughs and her smiles, to her hugs and kisses. Everything from her head to her toes.

I couldn't help but wrap my arms around her petite body, pulling her closer to me.

I wanted this to last forever. I wanted to hold her in my arms and never let her go.

"I'm sorry". I apologize, probably for the hundredth time today.

"Me too". She whispers back.
