Avery

I peered around my surroundings, making sure Olivia didn't hear a word Gina had just yelled. Luckily, Olivia was over at the end of the driveway, jumping on large, decorative rocks, laying in the flower beds.

Turning back around and looking at Gina, the smile on her face was resistant. Why was she acting so happy? If I were in her shoes, I would've slapped Cameron upside the head and yelled at him from keeping a secret this big from his mother. But Gina was one of those carefree mothers. She wouldn't get mad. She never got mad.

"Did Cameron just tell you?" I asked, totally stunned of surprisal.

Gina nodded her head in a fast, repeating motion. "Yes! He came into the house, and just told me!"

I narrowed my eyes, still confused of why she was acting this way. It was...weird.

"I've shipped you guys since day one!"

Ship? Did she really just use the word ship? What is this world coming to?

"Ever since you've entered his life, he's changed. From being all cocky and being in the mind set of a five year old, he changed into a mature, gentlemen!"

I raised an eyebrow as I listened to the words coming from her mouth.

"And then when you guys broke up, I got really upset. My heart collapsed, and I felt empty. Ever since that day, he seemed different again, and I didn't like it. I've always wanted him to crawl back to you, but it never happened. Then a few months later, he started dating this Alexis chick, and may I just warn you, she is a blood thirsty little hoe! I hate her!"

I laughed as she finished her sentence, and I couldn't help but shed a tear from laughing so hard. "You're killing me Gina". I laugh, starting to calm myself down. "I don't like her either".

"You've met her?" She asked. I just nodded my head.

She crossed her arms across her chest, and let out a giant sigh. "And to think about it. She's going to be my daughter-in law!"

I rested my hand on her shoulder, wondering about how she's going to survive the rest of her life watching her son being in the hands of the devil.

Gina opened her mouth and was about to say something, when suddenly Cameron came skipping down the stairs, interrupting Gina from her oncoming sentence. She turned around and looked at Cameron. A smirk began to form beneath her nose, as her eyes switched back and forth between Cameron and I.

"Avery". Cameron says, as he notices me standing in the door frame. "Wanna come in?"

I hesitated for a moment. "Sure?" I said, unsure if I wanted to or not. But what the heck.

I turned around and quickly called Olivia too. She jogged down the driveway, and rushed to my side. Together, we walked into Gina's.

Shutting the door behind us, we slipped out of our shoes. Alex called Olivia and they later disappeared into the basement, leaving me, Cameron and Gina all in the living room.

The phone began the ring, so Gina quickly excused herself, into the kitchen.

"It's been a while". I said, looking around the familiar scenery of their home. "Yeah..." Cameron said, just above a whisper.

"Come". Cameron says, as he begins to walk up the staircase. I watched as he ran to the top of the stairs, and waited for me. I trailed my hand along the wooden railing, until I was finally standing at the top with him.

He then walked down the short, narrow hallway, before stopping at his old bedroom door. As he opened the door to the bright, grey bedroom, the smell of teenage Cameron hit me in the face. I found it weird how I still remembered how he smelt. It was a mixture between Calvin Klein cologne and a bottle of old spice. Weird huh?

His bedroom furniture was still placed in the same exact spots as five years ago. His bed on the left wall, his dresser on the right wall, his closet beside his dresser, and the balcony across from the doorway. It was like looking at an old photograph, because everything appeared the same, and the memories still laid within.

His trophies were still placed on the shelfs. His books were still sitting dusty in the bookcase, and the little glimpse of my video camera still sat hidden behind his books.

I gasped as the memories flooded my mind. Cameron looked at me. "Are you okay?" He asks.

I covered my mouth to conceal my laughter and nodded. "Yeah... I'm fine".

I walked across the bedroom until I was standing by the balcony doors. I moved the curtain ever so slightly, giving me enough room to peek through the gap. Looking across, my eyes laid upon my old bedroom, that was now transformed into my fathers office. The grin on my face stretched to both of my ears, as flashing memories flowed through my mind.

I felt a presence from behind me, and the feeling of their misty breath breathing against my neck.

"I miss it". Cameron's voice trails off. "Do you?"

The question made my stomach burst into butterflies. I wasn't sure of how to answer.

"Y-yes". I hesitated.

I felt Cameron's hands rest on my waist, and the momentum of his force pull me against him.

"Prove it". He whispered into my ear.

The calmness in his voice soothed me. I wanted to turn around and kiss him. But it wouldn't feel right...

I turned around, so that his body was now pressed against the front of me. His head was only inches away from mine and his minty breath was now lingering in the air.

Cameron lifted his hand and pulled back my loose strands of hair, and tucked it behind my ears. His actions caused my heartbeat to increase, and the butterflies in my stomach to swarm bigger and bigger.

Suddenly, I felt my eyes snap shut, and the presence of his face move closer and closer.

Before anything could happen, Alex's voice interrupted us from doing anything!

"Dad? What are you doing?"

Cameron's eyes widen and he quickly backs away from me.

From the doorway, Olivia and Alex both stood there. Their faces carried a tint of curiosity. This is probably a bad reputation for the two of us.

"Nothing". Cameron quickly blurts out. "I think it's time to go".

I felt the smile on my face drift away. I was hoping we could stay a bit longer.

After we all said goodbye to Gina, we all stuffed ourselves into my vehicle. Driving down the road, I heard Cameron let out a faint sigh. Turning my focus towards him, he wore a smug looking frown.

"What's wrong?" I ask, taking my eyes off of the road, and looking at him.

"I have to go back home..."He snarled. "I don't feel like facing Alexis at the moment".

"You don't have to". I quietly mumbled.

Cameron's face swiftly turned to me. He wore a confused expression, with his eyebrows knitted together and his eyes narrowed.

"What do you mean?"

"I'll let you stay over at my house". I told him, trying to sound as friendly as possible.

"Really?" He asks.

I nod my head in assurance.

"I mean, you don't have to. Im just trying to be a nice per-"

"No!" Cameron interrupts. "I'll stay with you".

The smile on his face was huge! He looked very excited but he seemed like he was trying to hide it.

"Thank you". He says.

------------------------------------------------------------------>

Sorry for not updating today. My family has a rule that we can't use electronics on Christmas, because it's a day meant for spending time with family and all, so that's why.

And I probably will only update once tomorrow because I'm going Boxing Day shopping.
