Avery
"C'mon Avery, you have school, lets go!" I said, rushing to get things done.
We've woken up late again, but this time, we only had ten minutes to eat breakfast, get dressed, and to hurry out of the house. It was impossible to get to school on time.
"Mom, I forgot all of my stuff at Alex's house!" Olivia cried from upstairs.
I let out a big breath of air. Of course she did. Guess who's going to Cameron's house today? Meee!
"Okay you know what?" I begin to say. "You won't go to school today. I'll drop you off at Grandmas house, and then I'll go over to Alex's house, grab your stuff, and then I have to go to work, okay?"
"Okay". She calls back.
I finished off by cleaning the kitchen, and brushing through my long brown hair.
By the time I was finished, Olivia came strolling down the stairs, wearing grey leggings, and a graphic t-shirt with her favourite princess on it. Her dark brown hair went straight down her back and then curled near the ends, and not to mention the pink bow that was clipping her bangs back.
"All ready?" I ask, grabbing my purse and slinging it over my shoulder. She instinctively nodded her head, and grabbed her coat.
We slipped our shoes on, along with our coats, before walking out of our house and to the car.
My parents place wasn't that far from where I lived. It was only a five minute drive. They still lived in the same house since we've moved to California. The house that happened to sit right beside Gina's...
When we arrived to my moms and dads, the familiar scenery of flowers and bushes evolved around us, greeting me in a friendly matter.
I turned the car off, and stepped out, helping Olivia out as well. I grabbed her hand, and together, we walked up to the front step. I placed three knocks on the door and waited.
I've never been to my parents house in over two months, after our little argument that we had. I didn't pay my water or electrical bill back in March, and I had to beg my parents for an extra $3,000. They got really mad at me, saying that I should work harder at my job, so I'd get more money. But it's not my fault! I couldn't go to university, so of course I wouldn't get a good paying salary. I was stuck having a job at this stupid diner. My parents are just selfish people. They know I have a child to care for, and that I don't have a partner that could help me. They should understand my problems, and help me out!
I was actually a little afraid of knocking on the door and seeing their faces. All they seemed to do was shame me. Ever since I told them about my pregnancy with Cameron's baby, they looked at me like I wasn't even their kid. My mom hated Cameron with all her heart. Probably more hatred then I hated him myself. My dad didn't like him that much either. To the time he cheated on me. To the time he got us into a car accident. To the time he got me pregnant, and the time that he left me all on my own, their hatred against him got bigger and bigger.
After a minute of waiting, the door opened and my mother appeared from behind the door.
"Avery". She mumbles, looking at me and then glancing over to Olivia.
"Mom". I mimic.
I placed my hand on Olivia's back and pushed her into the house. "I have to go to work, so can you please watch Olivia for me until I get back?" I desperately asked.
"Why isn't she at school then?" She asked. The attitude in her voice was obvious that she was still mad at me.
"We were in a rush, and she forgot her stuff at Cam-"
Just as I was about to say Cameron's house, I realized that was a huge mistake and tried to quickly cover myself.
"At her friends house from this weekend". I finished off saying, hoping to god that she didn't sense my mistake.
"Her stuff?" My mother asked.
I nod. "Yes. She went to a sleepover this weekend and she forgot to bring it home, when I picked her up".
"You didn't pick me up". Olivia butted in. "Cameron had to take me to the hos-"
I quickly put my hand over her mouth, to conceal what she was going to say. Damn it! But it was too late, Olivia had already spilled Cameron's name.
My mother looked at me suspiciously, and soon later, her face began to show her anger.
"Don't tell me you're seeing Cameron again?!" She screamed.
And here we go again...
