Avery

"Why are we with a stranger mom?" Olivia whispered, trying hardly to not let Daniel hear our talking. Her voice sounded scared and startled. I wouldn't blame her though. I'd be kind of creeped out too if I was put into a strangers car, having no idea who he was, or where he was taking me.

I peered through the rearview mirror, to see her curled up into a ball on the seat. Her big brown eyes were as wide as could be. She looked so terrified.

"It's okay honey, he's just my friend, he's driving us..."

I looked at him, wondering where we were actually going.

"Back to the pier". He says, finalizing my sentence.

I nod. "Yeah, back to the pier". I repeat.

Once I told her who he was, she uncurled herself from her human ball, and sat like a normal person.

"How old is he?" She asks.

I glanced at Daniel who seemed to be loving the new conversation.

"Twenty four". He answers, smiling at me, and then smiling at her through the mirror.

"Hey! Mom, you're only one year younger than him!" She cheers, seeming excited and beginning to open up to her outgoing self.

"I know. I realize that". I laugh.

"You're twenty three?" Daniels asks, peering at me, with a cocky smile plastered on his face.

"Yeah". I giggle.

"Cool!"

The rest of the car ride consisted of getting to know each other more. I told him all about of my likes and dislikes, to my most embarrassing moments, to my most cherished moments. I've learnt that Daniel was the only kid in his family, how his favourite colour was blue, that he liked soccer, and how he graduated university with a DVM degree and now has a career as a veterinarian.

I thought it was cool that he was a vet. He seemed more of your 'I grew up from a rich family, so I don't need a job' type of person. But he wasn't. He works hard for his money, and he's making good progress. I'm impressed.

When we arrived back at the pier, Olivia jumped out and stretched outside of the car. Daniel apologized that he couldn't take me out for lunch, but I told him it wasn't his fault. We then made arrangements for a dinner date next weekend! We'd be going to a nice fancy restaurant, and then a walk through the park. It was going to be great.

Even though I've only known this man for two days, it feels like it's been an eternity! I felt so close to him, and open about anything. I've practically told him everything about my life. Since the day I was born to today. The only thing I left out were the years I've spent with Cameron. That's the only thing I didn't talked about. I don't plan on it either.

"I'll see you around". I grin, as I take one last glance at Daniel.

"I'll text you". He winked.

I playfully rolled my eyes, and shut the door.

This is probably the worst chapter ever! I apologize.
I kind of lost my motivation for a while, so once I feel inspired again, I'll write like crazy!
