38- Proposal

Avery

"I'm in love with Avery".

The words he spoke lightened me like a match. I was shocked at first, but soon later, shaking in excitement. My heart literally melted, and I felt the pumping of it beating hardly against my chest.

I didn't know if I was happy or mad at him. My emotions were unknown.

My eyes were glued onto Cameron's face. The dazzling sparkle in his eyes, and the sincere smile plastered on his face was hard to ignore. I felt hot tears brimming in my eyes, threatening to spill at any moment.

Cameron stepped down from the carpeted church steps, and maneuvered his way towards me.

My eyes were still locked onto his chocolate brown orbs, making me almost drift off into another universe!

As he was now standing in front of me, the scent of his manly cologne washed over me, making me swoon. He looked so perfectly beautiful, just standing in front of my face, gazing down at me. He looked like an angel from heaven, guiding me into the path of love and dignity. Standing in his handsome black suit, with his hair perfectly swept upwards made my knees go weak. He sure looked like an angel, but his personality matched the devil.

My heart was pounding a thousand times more faster than it usually should. It felt like at some moment, it was going to jump out of my chest and run away from me.

Cameron's gentle, soft hands grabbed ahold of mine, and electricity ran up and down my spine. His thumbs rubbed tiny circles on the top of my hand. It somehow soothed me.

As I gained my conscience, I glanced around the scenery to see everybody's eyes on us. They looked at us in shock. I wasn't sure if it was a good kind of shock or the bad kind.

"The moment I met her, I always knew that she was the one. The way her long brown hair falls, the way her big blue eyes sparkle, the way she smiles every time I say something cheesy, and everything in between, I was destined to chase her. I was destined to cradle her in my arms and claim her mine. There is nothing in this world that I'd rather wake up to everyday except for her perfect face. There is no one in this world who I'd want to care for my children except for her. There is no one in this world who I'd want to share my house with except for her. I spent twenty-four fucking years, trying to get my life together. The moment I met her, back when I was 18, was literally the best fucking year of my life! I knew she was the one who I wanted to marry.   She shaped me into a better person. And then I fucked up, and spent the last five years, regretting what I did to her. And now that she's back in my life, there's still no one in this world who I'd rather marry than her... And she happens to be standing right in front of me".

By now, the tears in my eyes had managed to escape. They rolled down my cheeks, creating a damp pathway, before reaching the end of my chin and evaporating into mid air.

Cameron gets down on one knee, still caressing my hand into his. Our eyes never lost contact, and everything around us disappeared. I felt like I was living a fantasy right now! I was the princess, and Cameron was the prince.

"Avery Mason. I know I fucked up thousands of times. I know you might not like me at the moment, but to me... I fucking love you! I've always have.." 

Cameron lifted his pinky finger, and raised it in the air. "A few months ago, I promised you something. I know I've always broken my promises, but this one, I'm destined to keep. I promised you that I'd make you mine, and only mine... So here I am".

Cameron reached into his pocket, and pulled out a red velvet pouch. He ripped it open, and pulled out a big, dazzling, diamond ring. My eyes widened at the beautiful object.

"This was suppose to be Alexis' wedding ring... But I decided not to give it to her. She doesn't deserve this... Instead, I'm giving it to you... As a promise ring". 

He grabbed my left hand again and slipped it onto my finger. This was the most beautiful fucking promise ring I've ever seen!

"I'm keeping my promise". Cameron says, gazing up at me, and standing up.

I was in total shock! I didn't even know what to say! Part of me wanted to cry. Part of me wanted to kiss him. And part of me wanted to marry him already!

"Cameron.." I begin, but I was interrupted by Cameron's lips crashing against mine.

Everybody gasped around us, indulging  me into a feeling of happiness.
As the kiss lasted, I opened my eyes to see everybody looking at us in awe.

As Cameron pulled away from me, he got back down on his knee, making me curious of what he was going to do next.

"Avery Lee Mason?"  Cameron asks, squeezing my hands into his.

More joyful tears streamed down my face, taking all my mascara with it. "Yes?" I ask, my voice cracking as I said it.

Cameron smiled. "Will you marry me?"

I held my hand up to my face to conceal my excitement. It was nearly impossible though, because loud squeals slipped through my lips.

I couldn't trust my voice due to my excitement, so I just nodded.

"Yes".
