[Tessa's POV]

Jem: "Please tell me where it is that we are going," he pleaded as I led him down stairs.

Tessa: "Not just yet," I said grinning as I continued to drag him down towards one room I have purposefully avoided showing him since we bought this place together.

Our small home is located in London, England. Only a short drive away from Black Friars Bridge, for we could not stand to immediately leave behind the spot where we have spent so many years meeting in secret. Though we will probably not stay in London forever, after all we have the whole world to explore together, we are not ready to go quite yet. Right away we began looking for a home to call our own. To most it may seem like an odd sight, a couple who looks no more than 20 at the most living alone together. What they must all think! Though I take pride in not caring what others think of me, for I learned a long time ago that it truly does not matter, the glares we get at times can get rather annoying. If only they knew the truth.

When we started moving into our new home I made sure James was occupied elsewhere while I was moving boxes into the back room. He has never really appreciated technology, he would much rather talk and read a book by candlelight than watch television. So I have have been forced to store all my more "advanced" items out of his sight. Though I was born in the 19th Century, I have learned and grown alongside society as they made new inventions and improvements. Jem, though he lived through all those same years, was hidden away in the silent city without all modern advancements. He has never had any contact with computers and such. I think it is time to introduce him to it once and for all.

Jem: "Seriously Tessa, what is going on?

Tessa: "Just once more second, I swear!"

[Jem's POV]

Tessa: "Open your eyes!"

Tessa let go of my hand as I opened my eyes to a room full of gadgets.

Jem: "What is this?" I asked confused. "I told you I prefer to live without these things. I want it to be as it was when we were first in love dear Tessa."

Tessa: "I know Jem, you don't have to enjoy it, but this is what the world is now. We need to adapt, we can't keep living in the past. I know you haven't grown alongside modern society as I have, but you must at least try. Do it for me."

Why was it that Tessa always knew how to persuade me? Maybe it was because with her I needed very little persuading indeed. For when she looks into my eyes I instantaneously loose all control of my wits and become hers and hers alone at once. If this is what it took to make her happy then this is what I was going to do. She could ask anything of me and I would obey.

Jem: "Where do I begin?"

[Tessa's POV]

The next 2 hours were spent teaching James how to turn on a computer and open up a browser to go online. The look on his face when all the worlds knowledge was all of a sudden there for the taking, it was like watching a child discovering how to walk. That first step being so exhilarating because all you want to do is explore, but you're not sure of yourself yet. Slowly you build up the confidence to try again, and again, until one day your running and you can't even remember a day when you didn't know how to walk. This is what it was like. In someways he reminded me of my own children many years ago, the way his face lit up when something went right, even the looks of confusion when things did not turn out. Though he was over a century old, he was a newborn to the 21st century. He had to relearn how to live a modern life.

Jem: "This is truly magnificent. Thank you."

Slowly he gathered himself out of the office chair and found my face. I swear I world went silent as he stood there and stared into my eyes. How long had we been standing like this for? Did it matter even?

[Jem's POV]

Staring into Tessa's eyes I could not imagine another person I was destined to spend the rest of my life with. Though we were once engaged to be married, I was afraid the years apart might have changed my feelings, but they did not even change in the slightest.

Slowly I moved my hands around her waist as hers were wrapping around the back of my neck. I closed the distance separating our lips as the tension was getting to strong to resist. Our lips fit perfectly together as though they were made in heaven to be a perfect match. My hands began to wander, finding the small of her back pressing us closer together. She let out a small gasp and broke the kiss.

Tessa: "You kiss me as though I invented all this stuff," she said giggling a little bit. "All I did was show you how to use it."

Jem: "Tessa dear, you did much more than you give yourself credit for. You did not just show me how to use a computer, you showed me how to live again. Without you here, I fear I may have spent the rest of this life wandering without reason. Always an outsider. Never could I have imagined a fate in which you were not here by my side forever."

Without another word she moved her lips to mine once more and we lost ourselves in the rhythm that was our own hearts.

[Tessa's POV]

~Later that night~

I walked into the livingroom only to find that Jem was not there. This was extremely unsual, he is always seated in the lounge chair in the corner of the room. Maybe he was in the kitchen? I thought as I rounded another corner. After searching for nearly 10 minutes, he was still no where to be found. I had checked all the rooms hadn't I? Maybe this was just a strange game he was playing, but that didn't seem like him. All of a sudden I heard the familiar sound of Jem's violin. Why was he downstairs?

Tessa: "Jem?" I said quietly as a walked into the room the noise was coming from.

All of the sudden the music stopped and I heard the familiar voice of the one I loved respond.

Jem: "Yes?" he replied.

Tessa: "What are you doing-" I stopped mid sentence as I saw what he had set up. "This is amazing Jem!"

Jem: "I hoped you would think so."

Downstairs in the room he had previously dreaded, the one in which I had hidden all my modern gadgets away from his sight, he had set up a program to record his beautiful violin playing.

Jem: "I set it up so you could take my music with you where ever you go. Whatever may become of my fate, I never want you to be without a piece of me ever again."

Tessa: "What did I ever do to deserve you Jem?"
