"Have you ever been to a party?" She said looking over at me.
"Pfft, have I ever been to a party? Yeah I've been to a party" I replied.
She laughed, "Okay, what about one besides the party we met or a birthday party?"
"See now you're just singling me out" I replied folding my arms and looking out the window.
She put her hand on my thigh and patted it, "aw don't get all emotional"
She said leaving her hand on my thigh which is what all my attention had went to.
"I-um- I'm not g-getting emotional"
When I said that she put her hand back on the steering wheel.
"You're funny Lydia"
"Thank you" I said smiling.
"See that's funny, not post people would legitimately say thank you like you did"
I didn't say anything then because I wanted to say sorry but then I thought this may have been one of the times not to reply.
She looked over and smiled at me and then stared back at the road."My friend Jerry is throwing this party" she said once we had both got out of the car and started walking up to the house.
She looked at me after a minute, "my friends are a bit wild, we don't have to go if you want"
I shrugged, "I want to go, it may be fun"
"Okay" she said, "but at any point if you want to leave, just tell me and we will leave"
I said okay and she laughed.
"I'm acting crazy aren't I, I just don't want you to feel uncomfortable"
"I feel comfortable with you" that was a lie, she makes my heart race and my stomach flip.
She looked at me and smiled.
When we got up to the house there was a few people outside but Jaycee didn't pay attention to them, she just walked ahead and opened the door for me.
Once we got inside it rank of beer and bad decisions.
Jaycee intertwined our fingers as she walked through the crowd of people.
I wasn't sure to grab her hand and hold it or to just let her drag me along.
After a minute our hands started to slip so I grabbed her hand.
We walked into what seemed to be a dining room and one person looked at us and scream Jaycee.
"Sup Kian" she said as the person headed over to her.
He looked at her for a moment then at me then down, that's when I noticed Jaycee and I were still holding hands.
I was gonna pull my hand away but it was clear she had saw the look from him to and not let go.
She looked at me and smiled then looked at Kian, "Kian, this is Lydia. Lydia this is Kian"
I shook his hand and he shook mine.
"Nice to meet you Kian" I said.
"The pleasure is all mine" he replied with a smile then looked at Jaycee,
"We are shooting fireworks later, it's gonna be fucking radical" he said then patted her on the back before shuffling off.
She turned to me and got really close, "Do you drink?" She asked.
"I haven't done it before" I replied screaming over the music and yelling.
"Do you want to?" She asked.
"I will just take a soda" I replied getting closer to her ear so I wouldn't have to yell.
She looked at me and smiled then tightened her grip on my hand before pulling me through another group of people.
I felt warm. You know how when you get sad you just kinda feel cold.
I could feel my cheeks hurting from smiling and my blushing heated up my face.
