Chapter Twenty

After Jaycee left I sat back on my bed in shock.
I texted Georgia to meet me at the park close to my house.
She responded saying they would be there.

I gave her a five minute head start before I headed over there.
When I got there she was no where to be seen so I just sat down on one of the benches.
I sat my phone down in my lap and looked around.
The birds, the trees, the everything.
I felt a warm tear slide down my cheek.
I didn't realize I had completely zoned out until I looked over and screamed.
Someone was standing there and they jumped, "oh my, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to spook you" they had a slight accent which I enjoyed from a person every now and then.
"I was just taking some pictures" she held up her camera, "when I noticed you over here and you look a bit out of it, is everything okay?" The look on her face was sincere.
I stared at her for a moment until she tilted her head then it was like I snapped back into everything, "yeah, yeah I'm fine. I was just enjoying the day."
She sat down, "I do enjoy days like this, that's why I decided to come out and take some photos"
I just nodded and she looked over at me, "my name is Jamie by the way" she said extending her hand.
I shook it, "Lydia"
"Aw what a pretty name."
"Thank you" I replied.
"So, Are you in a college around here or are you on Vacation?" She asked.
"I'm actually still in high school" I'm really tired of everyone assuming I'm older than I am.
"Oh really? Me too! I just thought you were older, my bad"
"It's fine"
Then I saw Georgia she was smiling at me then saw Jamie and gave me a questioning look.
"Hi" Georgia said as she got to the bench.
"Georgia this is Jamie, Jamie this is Georgia", they swapped hellos,
"Jamie I better get going but it was nice meeting you" I said as I got up.
"Nice meeting you too" she replied.
After we walked a little ways Georgia asked who she was and I just looked back at her still sitting and looking at her camera and I shrugged.
