Georgia and I took a bus to the mall where we walked around for about five minutes before anyone said anything.
She stopped and looked at me "So Lydia, I mean I don't want to over steps my boundaries but like, are you okay? You've been acting off lately."
"I kissed someone" I blurted out not knowing how to get to where I was trying to go.
"Really? Who?" She started walking again.
"Do you remember than guy that say in front of us in geometry?"
She lit up and smiled "yeah?"
"Well it wasn't him. It was Jaycee" I felt my face burning up.
"You kissed Jaycee? As in coffee shop Jaycee?"
I nodded.
"So are you like-"
I nodded again.
I felt the warm tears rolling down my face.
"Awh sweetie" she hugged me and lead me to the food court and we sat down at a table away from everyone else.
"I don't know what to do!" I said as I sat tears pouring now, "I've never felt like this about anyone else and I don't want you or Mia to hate me, I don't want my parents to hate me, I don't want God to hate me. I want to like Jake or Luke but I love her. I just don't know what to do my life is all shook up and-"
She put her hand on my hand, "Lydia no one hates you. And Mia is just a prick about gays because she kissed Samantha Higgins in first grade and got a paddling from the office. She didn't want anyone to know, but you know what, she can shove it. Your parents won't hate you, God doesn't hate you Lydia, he made you just the way you are."
A tear rolled down her cheek, "You're my best friend and if kissing girls makes you happy then by all means kiss girls"
I she handed me a tissue out of her purse for me to wipe my tears.
"You know Lydia, I don't think my parents have every been in love, so if you really love this girl. That's a beautiful thing."
I finished cleaning up and crumbled up the napkin in my hands.
"She had a girlfriend Georgia"
She leaned back in her seat, "oh"
"She didn't even tell me, then she tried to play it off like oh it's complicated"
"Maybe it is complicated"
"Or she's a cheater" I replied looking at the tissue in my hands.
"Or she's a cheater, but if you really love her, you should at least listen"
She stood up.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I'm going to look at Forever 21, you're going to see Jaycee" turned around and waved good bye as she walked away.
