Chapter Eighteen

Jaycee woke up me up around ten as she was getting out of bed. I didn't say anything when I woke up I just propped up on my elbows and watched her for a bit.
I she was humming while she changed and pulled her hair up, when she turned around and saw me she jumped.
"I didn't know you were awake baby girl" she sat down next to me on the bed.
"Why are you getting dressed already?" I asked.
She brushed some hair out of my face, "Well I was thinking we would go out for breakfast then I probably need to take you home"
I fell onto her, "I don't wanna go home" I said.
"I know, neither do I but we both have school tomorrow" she sat me up and went over to the dresser and grabbed my clean underwear off of it and handed it to me, "Get dressed baby."
I took them out of her hand and grabbed an outfit out of my bag and went to the bathroom to get ready.
"You ready?" She asked as I made my way down stairs with my bag.
I nodded.
"Come on sweetie lets go get something to eat" she grabbed my bag and we headed outside to her car.
Kat was sitting on the porch smoking.
"Leaving already?" She asked.
"Yeah" Jaycee replied.
"It was nice meeting you Lydia" she said standing up and hugging me.
"It was nice meeting you too" I replied, "thank you for letting me stay"
"It was no problem I loved having you guys here" she smiled then looked at Jaycee, "although I do need to talk to you for a second"
Jaycee looked at me and handed me the keys to her car, "go ahead and crank it up"
I did as she said and tried to over hear what they were talking about but I couldn't.
It ended with them hugging and Kat saying something as Jaycee walked my way then Jaycee flicking her off.
"Where do you want to go eat?" She asked as she got in the car.

We went and ate at Waffle House then after an hour or two we made our way back into town. "Do you mind if I run by my apartment real quick to grab something? I need to take it to the post office before it closes."
"I don't mind" I replied.
As we pulled up to her apartment complex she got out and looked around for a second before closing her door.
"You can come in if you want" she said.
So I followed her up the stairs to her apartment then when we walked in there was a girl standing at the counter.
"Oh hey" Jaycee said, "I didn't know you were here"
The girl walked around the counter smiling. Her smile faded a little when she saw me, "who's this?" She asked.
"Well Savanna, this is Lydia and Lydia this is Savanna" Jaycee said then Savanna and I exchanged hellos.
"I'm here to get a letter" Jaycee said, "have you seen it?"
"I think it's on the bed side table" she said.
"Will you get it for me?" Jaycee asked.
"You have two legs" she replied.
Jaycee huffed and headed down the hall.
"So how long have you been roommates?" I asked.
"Roommates? We are-" She was interrupted by Jaycee running back into the room.
"Found it, okay let's go" she grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the door while saying bye to savanna.
