Chapter Five

       I walked into science and sat down next to Maddie.
       "What happened to you?" she asks lazily.
       "It's a long story." I groan.
       "We have a whole forty minutes. Why don't you start?"
       I told her the entire story and she listened to the whole thing. It felt real good to tell my friends and have them listen.
       "Have you told Brenda yet? She'll kick Lexi's ass."
       "No I haven't seen her yet today. And yes I know she will."
       "Well make sure you tell her."
       "Belive me, I will. Don't worry." I say ending the conversation. We sit and talk and don't pay too much attention the rest of class. When the bell rings I am relived because there's only one more period until lunch. I am so hungry. I see Brenda and rush over to her.
      "Hey, ask to go to the bathroom in five minutes, we need to talk." I tell her and walk away to math class.
       I sit down at my sort of assigned table with Cassandra and Shelby. I watch my wrist watch carefully and five minutes into class I ask to use the bathroom. My teacher allows me to so I sign out and leave headed for the bathroom. I see Lexi getting a drink, "Oh fucking great." I mumble. I walk faster and almost make it to the bathroom without catching her attention, but she whips around just before I reach the bathroom.
       "Hey slut, what's the matter? I didn't beat you up enough earlier? Well we can fix that now can't we?" She taunts with a sneer on her face.
       "Hey Lexi, I just want to go to the bathroom so just leave me alone alright?" I respond. Suddenly she charges at me and punches me in the stomach with incredible strength. Thankfully Brenda came up from study hall. And just my luck, Josh comes out of his English class.
