Chapter Twenty Five

When we finished breakfast we went back up stairs. I texted Josh and said,
K:I ate both of the pop tarts sorry :) but later for lunch I can bring you some.
J:Ya if Brenda doesn't eat them all haha.
"Well I can't make any promises." Brenda said reading over my shoulder again.
K:Brenda says she can't make any promises but I hid some lol.
J:Cool. So if you had breakfast at like 11 then when are you eating lunch? At 3?
K:No I was thinking like 1ish.
J:K.
"Wait what do you mean you hid some pop tarts? Where did you hide them?" Brenda asks.
"Well if I told you that they would be eaten not hidden." I say laughing.
Brenda rolls her eyes and snickers.
J:Ugh I'm so bored!
K:Same.
J:You should like bring me a roast beef sandwich. This hospital food is nasty!
K:Like school food nasty?
J:Ya they use wheat bread. Yuck!
K:Eww!
J:Ya I know.
K:Ya I will.
J:Great.

Later, around 12:30 I put together a few roast beef sandwiches, for Brenda, Josh and I. I put them in a cooler with three mountain dews. Then Brenda's dad drove us over to the hospital. We hopped out and waved goodbye to Brenda's dad. I texted Josh to see what room number he was in.
K:What room are you in?
J:133
K:We'll be up in a bit.
J:Ok
We went to the service desk.
"How may I help you? Asked a nice looking blonde lady behind the service desk."
"Yes I'm here to see my boyfriend Josh Ughson. He told me he's in room 133.
"Let me check, yup looks about right. Take the elevator up to the second floor and it will be a few doors on your right." She replied. "Thank you." I replied turning towards the elevator. I hit the up button and waited. When it arrives a blonde boy around our age is standing in there. He smiles at Brenda and I. We enter, "What floor?" He asks politely.
"Two please."Brenda replies smiling at me.
"So what brings you two fine girls to this awful hospital?" He asks. "We are just here to see Kelly's boyfriend whom has lung cancer."Brenda replies.
"Cool. My name's Tod."The boy replies turning to Brenda.
"I'm Brenda. So why are you here?" Brenda asks glancing at him.
My cousin is in the hospital. He has lung cancer too."
"That's weird."I reply.
We all three get off the elevator. Brenda and I turn right. And so does Todd.
"What room is your cousin staying in?"Brenda asks.
"133."Todd replies matter of factly.
"What's his name?"I ask glancing at the numbers so I don't miss 133. We pass 125, 127.
"Josh Ughson."
"Well nice to meet you, I'm Josh's girlfriend." I reply smirking at him.
We stop in front of 133.
"Your Kelly? That Kelly? The Kelly Josh is always bragging about?"Todd says staring at me.
"Sure am." I say blushing.
I raise my first and knock on the door.
"Come in!" I hear Josh call.
"Well, Kelly I see you've met my cousin Todd." Josh says smiling at us.
"Yeah and you're right, she's totally hot!" Todd exclaims.
"Yeah and she's mine so back off." Josh says chuckling.
I laughed slightly and went over and sat on the foot of Josh's bed with Brenda trailing behind me.
"And you can have her cause her friend's way hotter." Todd says grinning.
"Your not my type."Brenda says glaring at Todd.
I pull the sandwiches and mountain dews out of the cooler and hand Brenda and Josh each a sandwich and drink. "Sorry Todd, I only packed enough for Josh, Brenda, and I."
"He can have half my sandwich."Josh says ripping the sandwich in two. He turned the t.v. and we sat and ate lunch together while channel surfing. This specific hospital has many many channels.
"Just use the t.v. guide." I said with a mouthful of sandwich.
"How do find that?" Josh  asks staring at the remote in his hand. "There are like a million buttons on this damn thing."
"Give me that." I said taking the remote from him. I hit one button and the t.v. guide pops up. "Tada!" I exclaim handing the remote back to him. We ended up watching some sort of pawn stars show. I hate pawn stars but I'll live.
