Chapter Nineteen

"Attention all middle school students, I just wanted to remind you that Semi is tonight from 5 to 8:30." The principal announces over the intercom at the start of announcements, after the pledge of aligence of course. When announcements end  I continue shooting hoops terribly with Leigha.
"Are you going to the dance with anyone?" I ask her.
"Yeah Gram is taking me. What about you? "
"Um, I think Josh is taking me."
"Awesome. And says the girl who whined and whined she was never getting a boyfriend." She says laughing at me.
"Ha ha very funny." I say rolling my eyes.
Later after playing handball, the bell rang. I went to band and sat down. The teacher isn't here today so we watched a movie, I asked if Tess and I could go into one of the practice rooms. The substitute teacher let us. I grabbed my bag and went in. I pulled my phone out of my ass pocket. I have a new text from Josh.
J:Will you go to Semi with me tonight?
K:Of course!
J:Ok
K:How are you texting me?
J:I asked Mrs.Doe if I could go to the "bathroom". How are you texting me?
K:Mr. Ford isn't here today so I'm in the practice room with Tess.
J:Tell her I say hi. But I gotta get back, I love you.
K:Ok, I love you too.
"Josh says hi." I say to Tess without looking up.
I text Brenda who is in studyhall.
K:Josh asked me to Semi.
B:Aww, do you want to have Sam, Maddie, and Tess come to my house so they can get ready for Semi with us? I already got your bus pass, I'll give to you at lunch.
K:Ya. Ok. I'll text them and ask. But I'm with Tess so I'll just ask her.
B:K

K:They all said they could.
B:Great. I'll take care of the bus passes.
K: Hahaha Ok.

Later that day, we are all at Brenda's getting ready for Semi. I wore a pretty creamish dress with lace over satin underneath. Tess straightend my hair. Maddie did my makeup. Sam did my nails a really nice dark blue. Brenda let me borrow a nice pair of flats. We got everyone else ready and waited. "Kelly you look really pretty." Brenda says admiring what they did. Everyone else nods.
"Aww thanks you guys." I say blushing a little. "Hey when we get there, can one of you guys take a few pictures of Josh and I together?"
"I will." Brenda says.
At 4:45 we leave. On the way Maddie breaks the silence. "Vinnie asked me to Semi."
We all turned to her a little shocked.
"What did you say?" Tess asks wording our thoughts.
"Yes."
"Awww see? We told you someone would like you." I tell her smiling.
"Oh shutup." She says rolling her eyes.
When we get there, Josh and Vinnie are waiting. I take one look at Josh and it takes my breath away. Hey there's that dream affect again.
