Wow, what a long wait! I've kind of lost inspiration for this story and I HATE the way I've written it, it's awful (my more recent works are so much better). I will finish this story though because so many people are reading it (thank you!) and I would hate it if I just deleted it.
I would like to dedicate this to all of you who have been waiting for this to return.
Thank you for being patient and thank you ALL for the comments and votes you've left me. You really make my day x.

“It's me again. Where are you, Alex? I'm worried about you, you didn't come home last night. Call me when you get this.”
I sigh heavily as I delete the message. I've never suffered discrimination of any kind before so this feels different. It feels awful to be treated the way I was by so-called 'friends'.
My thoughts are interrupted as I feel a hand on my arm.
“Hey.” I look to my left and frown as I see a blonde guy, his eyes staring intently at my face.
“Er, hi. Do I know you?” I ask him, furrowing my eyebrows.
“No, but you're Alex from Remember Us Later. I've been following you guys since the start. I used to watch you perform in that bar.” He gushes, motioning with his hands.
“Oh, right. We're not that famous.” I roll my eyes but he's unfazed.
“But you deserve to be.” He compliments, biting his lower lip.
“Well, I don't think we'll ever get that chance.” I reply glumly, bringing my beer bottle up to my lips.
“What? What do you mean?” Blondie asks hurriedly, widening his eyes and pulling my drink away from me, spilling it onto the floor missing my shirt.
“Hey!” I yell, taking a step back.
“What do you mean you're not going to get a chance? You're not splitting up are you?” His voice is shaky and he looks at me with worried brown eyes.
“Unfortunately, we are.” I shrug, hiding the hurt I feel under my nonchalant bravado.
“B-But why?” He stutters.
“Let's just say we had musical differences.” I say vaguely.
“Alex, tell me the truth.” He raises an eyebrow, making me feel uncomfortable.
I sigh and take a swig before wiping my mouth and looking at Blondie. “Kellin and Elliot are...homophobic.”
“And why should that matter..?” He asks dumbfounded. A moment passes before he widens his eyes. Something he does a lot it seems. “Oh, my god.” He clasps his hands over his mouth as realisation kicks in.
“Yup.” I sigh, popping the 'p' as I wait for his inner freak-out to subside.
“But who and why and how?” He talks quickly, his words becoming one long one.
“Guy who lives opposite me, it just happened and I don't think you need me to explain how.” I chuckle briefly.
“So, are you together or what?”
“We are but it's complicated.” I swallow hard as my mind goes back to River. I shouldn't have left him.
“Why's that?” He asks persistently.
“Do you ever give up?” I question, shaking my head.
“No, I don't.” He says proudly, folding his arms. “Go on.”
