Kelsey's P.O.V.

"Morning, princess," Luke greeted as I entered the kitchen, smiling widely at me. He was sat at one of the high stools by the counter.

"Morning," I mumbled, rubbing my eyes as I sat beside him. "What's for breakfast?"

"Leftovers," he said sarcastically, yet chuckling.

"Wow," I exclaimed, playing along. I grabbed the pizza he was eating, taking a bite of it. "Tasty!"

"I know, right?" He chuckled, snatching the pizza back. He laughed, sticking his tongue out at me.

Laughing, I looked at the TV. It was the only part of the other room that can be seen from the kitchen. I know so because I watch all the time from here whenever I am cooking.

It was on - maybe Ashton's watching.

But something caught my attention. Right after the Macy's commercial, the words BREAKING NEWS was flashed in the screen, followed by a female reporter. On her left was a photo of the town's police station - wait! Wait! That's our town's police station!

"Three deaths in one night," the reporter started.

"Kels?" Asthon called, as I stood up, rushing to the other room. Luke was following behind me. I looked at Ashton, who was looking back at me with a worried look on his face. He turned his attention back to the news as the reported continued. Doing the same, I listened.

"Following the murder of Daniel Byrd two weeks ago, the police of the said town are in search for the suspect of three crimes last night."

They now showed some blurry photos of the bodies.

"The victims were brutally stabbed to death with cut throats," she continued as three familiar photos of the victims were showed.

"What the," I muttered.

"Victims are Simon Everdeen," what the fuck, I thought. "Owner of The Book Café in town. Chief of police, Mario Martinez and Judge Joseph Bourne."

"No way," Luke breathed out. The three of us exchanged looks.

"Who the hell would..." Ashton started but was immediately cut off by the knocks coming from the front door. He muted the TV before standing up to open the door. Luke and I followed.

"Good morning, officers," he said slowly. I can see two police officers outside. "How may I help you?"

"Is Miss Everdeen home?" The one with dark brown hair asked. "We would like to invite her for questioning."

"I am," I said quietly, stepping beside Ashton. "How will I say this? I just saw the news."

"Yes," the other one said, as if reading my mind. "Your uncle was found dead last night. And so does the judge and the officer who were in charge of your case."
