December
I got up and literally almost jumped out of bed. I am so excited.
Today's the day!
It's exactly the end of week 17.
I'm going to find out the gender of my baby today.
Pine sat up slowly.
"You okay, sweetheart?"
"Yeah. Just..."
"Excited? Yeah me too. I've been looking forward to this."
I looked at him pleadingly.
"No... No, River will kill us if we don't wait for her. Plus, I want her to do it."
"Yeah. I guess your right."
I got up and walked down to the kitchen. Pine followed sluggishly behind me.
"You know it's 9:00 AM lazy bones."
"It's also a Saturday."
"Says the guy who doesn't work Monday through Friday."
We walked into the common room and saw Breeze and River sitting there.
The Christmas tree behind the, glowed beautifully.
"Hey guys. What are you doing?"
"Waiting for you." River said. "We have a surprise."
River got up and grabbed my shoulders. They pushed me back to the bedroom corridor. They stopped me in front of my old door. I hadn't been in my own room for months.
"What are you guys doing?"
"Just look." Pine said.
I opened my door slowly.
My old room had been transformed into a nursery.
I was nearly to tears.
"Merry Christmas."
I just stood there almost crying.
"It's beautiful guys. Thank you so much."
I went over and the four of us had a group hug.
"Okay! Let's go do the one we've been waiting for!" River said.River rubbed some gel on my bump and rubbed it with some sort of machine.
I was so excited. I could barely contain it. Pine squeezed my hand as we waited for River to say something.
I looked over at River.
Her eyes got really big.
"Um, Breeze could you come here for a sec."
Breeze walked over. When he looked at the screen his eyes got big too.
"Is that-"
"Yep."
"Oh. Well then we might make a few adjustments to the nursery."
"What? What is it?" I asked starting to get a little worried now.
"Well... Lina... It's a girl."
Pine kissed me and we laughed joyfully together but, we noticed Breeze and River's expression.
"Guys, what wrong?"
"It's a boy."
"What? But you just said-"
"Yeah, it's a girl... And a boy."
"What?"
"Babies."
"Babies...plural?!"
"Yeah. It's a boy and a girl."
"Twins."
